This is actually higher end than Shure SE846's although the Shure's were more popular for their addictive bass. The W80 has enough bass unless you're a bass head and is actually a better balanced IEM, way less fatiguing, and more comfortable for long hours of use. It's a shame that they didn't sell well at its MSRP, and now it's only at $400 which is just a steal. I remember buying these initially when the first version came out at full MSRP $1500 and thought they were really good, and later bought again at $750 which I resold because I had too many IEM's. I'm debating to get these at this price to make it a traveling IEM, but my AirPods Pro 2's are also way too convenient to not use. FWP's lol

Move on to this, or still with my 13 year old Ultimate Ears TripleFi's?
I had the old triple fi's. They don't sound as good as this. Westone is less bulky and more comfortable to wear as well.

I've ordered one. How's this compared to IE600 or any other high end IEMs?
These are my first high end IEM and I'm not an audiophile by any mean. I listen to mostly classical and movie sound tracks. I can compare to all the other headphones I have.
- Shure SE215
- AirPod Pro
- Sony WH-1000xm4
- Powerbeats Pro
- Bose QC35
All the Bluetooth headphones don't come anywhere close to the sound of these Westone. I thought my SE215 sounds good and I used to put them on for a longer listening lesson when I wanted to enjoy music but the Westone blow it out of the water. I know they are not a fair comparison. I think I paid $200 for SE215 9-10 years ago. I sat down with the Westone listening to all the tracks that I know and experimented with ear tips and cables and it brought a smile on my face. The clarity and soundstage are very noticeably better. Very comfortable to wear. Plenty of bass for me. If you like heavy bass music maybe they are not for you. The Westone sound natural. I have since invested in balanced cable and FiiO BTR5 dac. So you can say these Westone W80 turned me. They opened my eyes and I didn't know music can sound this much better with the right equipment. Also Apple Music/Tidal lossless support is great. I'm rediscovering music that I thought I knew but now I hear a lot more details.

This or the Shure 846? Is it an evident jump in sound quality? Does it have a wider Soundstage?
I have the Shure SE846 and the Westone 80 V2. I also have the Westone 60 V2. And a slew of other in ear and over the ear headphones. I'm a collector. To answer your question, and to add to it…..The Shure sounds better to my ear. I have the stock filter in the Shure. Better bass and more dynamic than the Westone. Westone is fairly neutral, a bit bass light, but a very pleasant listen. At these prices for the Shure ($499) or these Westones, you cannot go wrong. But I'd choose the Shure every day of the week over the Westone 80 (granted, I have not heard the V3). That all said, I actually prefer the Westone 60 V2 over the Westone 80 V2. Better bass, more dynamics, and more extended highs in the 60 vs. the 80, both V2. I really enjoy the slightly elevated bass and treble in the 60. It's dynamic, more spectacular sounding, more dynamic. Last thought: of all these choices, the Shure SE846 are best to my ears. Dynamic, great, deep bass, fairly neutral across the board otherwise, extended highs, and tunable with filters. I hope this helps.

846 is iconic. Tried the W80s. Was not impressed woth the depth of Soundstage. Very neutral buy not all that exciting. That said, no clue about V3 and the cable is probably already going to create an improved listening experience. These prices are great!

Ty for the feedback, as a complete amateur my only reference point is the Triple Fi 10's 😅. Picked up the shure 535 for $200 last year and they sound just as good

What do you think about the w60 on sale for $200. How do you think those compare to these w80

Have you ever tried the shure 535, how do you think those would compare to the w60 or w80.

Much thanks

If you have a lot of IEMs, try getting TWS solutions with decent onboard DAC and MMCX connectors like Fiio UTWS5. I was pleasantly surprised by it, especially when connected via Aptx-Adaptive.
Looking at the UTWS5 right now, didn't even know something like this came out. I'm still using the BTR5 for wireless, would you say this has similar quality sound? I'm using it specifically for home theater or console gaming use, and don't mind having a wired IEM connected to a wireless device. AptX adaptive is also not really supported for a lot of the BT transmitters out there, most of them use the AptX HD or LL, which the BTR5 supports. I used to use the Qudelix-5K, and thought that the sound quality was better than the BTR5, but had to return it because the AptX Adaptive wasn't supported in these devices.

Tthe W80-V3 sound pretty good, but I'm holding out for the new model with the multi-phase quantum nanotube drivers.

I own the Shure 535. They are very good. Neutral but forward sound.

The W60 sounds more dynamic. Better bass but more of a V curve. The W80 are more neutral sounding than the W60 and a little boring.

IMHO not worth buying the Westones if you have the Shures already unless you wish to collect and have variety. If so, get the W60. Better value and I would argue a more fun sound.
