One of my best purchases. Open your garage from anywhere with cell service and have peace of mind that you closed it.

Having had both, I would say this version is much easier to set up and seems to work more seamlessly with less hassles. I gave away my black one and replaced it with a white one because it's much more reliable with my opener. Fortunately, the black one works ok for the person I gave it to.

I would always choose the white one over the black one for a new purchase, but if you aren't having problems, it may not be worth replacing it either...

Around the same price every Thanksgiving for the past 5 years through 2 different versions.

Surprisingly responsive on the notifications to my iPhone.

How does this compare to the Meross garage opener?

I got this in late August for the same price. Ever since I get an email almost weekly asking me to setup Amazon Key in garage home delivery. No thank you.

My experience has been more positive than negative but I've had a few problems when there was an attempt to close the door automatically per my program at the same time that someone was trying to leave. When this happens the garage door may be closed but the sensor doesn't report if the door is actually closed and you cannot manually attempt to close via the app. You must check it yourself. At least you'll get an email or app alert telling you of the conflict but it's frustrating when you're not home to get this notice.

Purchased this last time it was on sale and it was a terrible experience for me. Doesn't play nice with my Wi-Fi mesh system and kept going offline consistently. Ended up buying a Meero system for $5 more and it has been perfect.
Second this comment. This does not work well with mesh systems.

I purchased 2 of these as its cheaper to do so than to buy 1 and 1 door sensor. Doing so I use 1 hub and the 2 sensors for the 2 doors.

FYI, the low battery alert is crap as I got almost another 6 more months after it said low battery. The battery is not standard, so you'll have to buy the special battery which isn't expensive per say but just expensive than other standard cell bats.

Thank you!

You can use the sensor from the second one. No need to spend 40 on the same thing

What brand are your openers? I have chamberlain that don't require the sensors to determine the door state. The MyQ knows if the door is open, closed, or cracked.
Thank you for responding. Mine are Wayne Dalton.

Oh so maybe that's it? I have this white set and occasionally it's unresponsive using the app (mostly for closing). A few times Amazon delivery guy had to call me because he was able to open my garage, put my package in, but could not close it. Happened to me several times too. Never thought it's due to Mesh wifi (which I have)

I have this. Works good, but full disclosure there's a VERY loud obnoxious tone that goes off any time you use the app to open or close the garage. If you trigger it with your regular garage opener there's no tone.
I have the first gen black unit. I had no problems opening up the unit and removing the speaker with a pair of pliers. I figured I only paid $16 for it and it was worth the risk. I've never had a problem the entire time I've used it!

I have this. When it works, it is great. But there are also times where this thing loses its connection constantly and I'm having to get up on a ladder to reset it all from the app. A REAL PITA. It seems to only occur with one of our three garage doors, but it is definitely finicky at times. A really good price and I'd recommend, but it isn't perfect and I wouldn't 100% rely on it.

Wow. This may be my issue, as well. I have a mesh system and one of my three units is constantly crapping out causing me to constantly delete it and discover it again in the app.

Got this white version and it has been awesome. Able to get Amazon Key delivery. It also acts as a wifi extender-ish since it sits close enough to the wifi so I can control my garage opener. The garage opener is too far and thus its wifi keeps dropping in and out.

The status update is super responsive. Under 5s in most cases. For the price, it's awesome. The Amazon Key delivery is fantastic. Never have to worry about some high-value packages being robbed by pirates.

Can Amazon key open the garage door only partially like just 2 feet so the entire content of the garage is not exposed to the driver?

I bought this on sale a few months ago and it opens but won't close my Overhead Door brand garage opener. Any ideas?

I have a ZWave garage door opener on Smartthings, works good but there is a huge delay like over 8 seconds (3 sec cloud delay and 5 second safety beeping) before the garage door actually closes. To make it worse sometimes the Samsung cloud responds in 2 seconds sometimes 15 seconds or never. This means most of the time we don't even use it when leaving the house we just use the car.

Is myq the same? How much delay from tapping the button on the phone to actual moving of the door? Is the delay consistent?

No. The door opens and closes as it normally would. It's very convenient.
