New / Expired Xbox Game Pass members can convert Xbox Live Gold membership to Game Pass Ultimate at 1:1 ratio. Any prepaid time up to the maximum of three years gets the upgrade. Free VPN service is required only for redeeming the code(s).

Steps are only for New / Expired Xbox Game Pass members:
  1. Purchase [cdkeys.com] 12-Month Xbox Live Gold Membership (Canada - Email Delivery).
  2. Create [windscribe.com] Free Account on Windscribe VPN and Download App or Chrome Extension [windscribe.com].
  3. Connect to Canada on Windscribe VPN or using your own VPN service/app.
  4. Open browser in incognito/private mode and make sure you are connected to Canada by checking Whatismyip.com [whatismyip.com]
  5. Redeem [microsoft.com] your Xbox Live Gold code(s) without agreeing to recurring billing.
    • You can stack up to three years of Xbox Live Gold.
  6. Disconnect VPN after redeeming the code(s) and close browser.
  7. Join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate [xbox.com] by purchasing your first month for $1 (If price shows as $14.99, you can purchase Game Pass Ultimate first month [cdkeys.com] for $4.29 and redeem). Don't enable auto renewal when asked.
    • You will be prompted to upgrade your Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate with a 1:1 conversion. The renewal date should be the same as your Xbox live gold, plus 1 month (Maximum 36 months).
  8. Total = $44.49 + $1 = $45.49.
Note: Active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can convert 12-Month Xbox Live Gold Membership to 4-month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

This is not a even a great deal for existing members, considering the trouble. You're better off buying 3 months for $25.00 for the US Code.

Wrong again. Just stay out of these threads. You keep offering your opinion as facts. These are 12 month Xbox live gold codes. They can be stacked up to 3 years worth total. They don't expire. Only promotional codes can't be stacked and have an expiration date. These are not promo codes, they are retail.

As long as you don't currently have GPU, you can buy 3 of these and stack them (36 months is the max). If you do already have GPU, let that expire first before you do something like this. Don't listen to the other person that replied to you. They are giving incorrect information that they "heard" somewhere. These codes are retail codes that don't expire and can be stacked up to Microsoft's limit of 36 months. Just make sure to follow the instructions in the OP exactly.

Yes, I had bought 3 years worth of codes back in June from Eneba that I held on to until my sub expired this month. When I tried redeeming all the codes had already been redeemed. Thankfully I was refunded for all but the process is kinda a pain.

You don't want to renew until April 2023? HIGH RISK. I would NOT recommend you buy this today and save the code. These deals can be had throughout the year. Though you may need to wait a few weeks in between. It's not worth buying this now to save the code for 5 months.

Microsoft doesn't sell 12 months codes for Game Pass Ultimate. They only sell codes in increments in 1 to 3 months. What they want is people to pay month to month... that's the whole point of a subscription service.

And FYI there's no such thing as "Xbox Live Ultimate". You're mixing up MS services.

If my current 12-month Xbox gold expires tomorrow, am I ok to do this today as long as I don't have the Game Pass Ultimate? I see an offer to get the $1 trial and I think I had it years ago.
