Cannot believe people are still worried about burn in.
Who is GT?
Sounds like you had a bad experience and I am sorry you got burned.

This is far from normal experience especially in newer OLEDs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlP2kwNqXNA -- 3 year old test so not even latest models. We investigated the risk of OLED burn-in by displaying varying content 20 hours a day on a brand new LG E8 OLED TV for more than 6 months. We found no sign of permanent screenburn after putting on more than 3700 hours on our LG E8, confirming that OLED burn-in is extremely unlikely as long as you vary your content, and put the TV into standby rather than power off at the mains so that the normal compensation cycles can run to clear up image retention and reduce the risk of permanent screenburn.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b...4wk&t=317s

p.s. I remember people saying this about plasma TVs which had stopped being an issue by mid-time of its popularity cycle. The early plasma had an issue just like OLEDs, then a few releases the manufacturers learn how to handle it. At this point in the OLED technology cycle, for most users who dont leave it on 24 hrs a day watching CNN/ESPN and also don't let the TV run burn-in protection cycles, burn is extremely unlikely.

It's why I avoid most new technologies for several years. OLED is now mature and safe to buy IMHO.

C2 is a great TV. The dimming is annoying AF though. QD-OLED is likely the future.

You can turn it off by buying a service remote.

I have a 2017 model B1 - that has burn in all over the place. I babied the TV at first, but it doens't matter. Netflix logo, Closed Caption, and random burnin - I spent 2500 and never will buy OLED again.

Warranty that long unnecessary and these screens don't burn in.
We have the b7 65" (2017 model?), with pandemic gaming it had MAJOR burn in (stardew valley, luigis mansion and animal crossing). Luckily, LG replaced my screen (3 years old then) with them covering parts, I was to pay labor. The guy showed up and needed so much help to replace the screen (good luck doing this in a living room without a helper....) that he "forgot" to bill me for the labor.

That being said, normal mixed use will not have an issue and I've been told the newer generations are better at handling it.

I bought the Sony A80J over this. Ultimately went for better image processing over small increase in brightness (Sony uses the same LG Evo panel) Overall happy with the A80J. Both fantastic TVs though.

Happy to answer any questions as I did a ton of research

Hey! I was wondering if you could DM and put me on game haha. I'm thinking about the 65" C1, 77" C1 or the 77" C2. Thoughts about this versus the Sony? I also game (rarely) with a PS5 & XBOX X. Thanks in advance Smilie

Did you get the TV finally? Also how it was packed. Any issue/damage with the TV?
I got it a couple hours later than their delivery estimate. It was in perfect condition (the factory packaging seems to keep it very secure.) I've been using it for a couple weeks now with no issues. It has a fantastic picture and overall it's even better than I expected.

Does BuyDig offer free white glove delivery? They'll unbox the TV and I can turn it on and test it before they leave?

I don't think fed ex or ups offer such service. Good luck

BuyDig doesn't use FedEx or UPS for the 77" C2, it came truck freight through a shipping company. I didn't try to test it before I let the driver leave, just inspected the box for damage. It would likely take you 20 minutes or more just to get it out of the box and the stand attached.

Weird, my parents, and siblings have collectively bought ~15 big TVs and have never seen burn-in.

Have any of them even tested for it to check? Normal content often won't show it most of the time

Just be aware that the warranty with this is pretty useless if you need to use it.

The C7 was the last OLED that was very susceptible to burn-in. Starting in 2018 with the C8 they introduced pixel refresh which greatly helped and it's only been improved several times over since then. So long as you don't leave the set on a static image 8 hours a day and you turn it off at least a couple hours daily burn-in chances are very minimal. I've had my 77-inch C8 since Aug 2018 and it's still in great shape with no hints of burn-in and I just passed 10000 hours. I watch a lot of sports that have scores and banners on the screen most of the time. I also game some but not a lot, most Youtube, Netflix, Youtube TV, Kodi, etc. I plan on upgrading to an 83" sometime in 2023 for the size and not because my C8 has any issues. Although since new the C8 does struggle with fast motion in certain lighting situations, that's due to processing limitations in 2018.
