no there's no free dimm slot. it's 2x4gb soldered. the asus site says that because it's a possible configuration

That links reflects 2 different processors and several HD & graphics configurations. Everything that I've looked up states that this particular version that is posted has a cap of 8GB

My mistake of bad reference, I was referring to the intel alder lake i5 1240p which utilizes ARM developed big-little layout, which is not a ARM based at all that's my bad. Anyway yea Best Buy sold a similar one for about $450 a while back with the i5 1240p

Sad that ram is nonupgradable because everything else about it check the boxes. Tb4 port, likely hdmi 2.0, back-lit keys topped by a killer oled lcd and fast cpu.

you could get a college student a much cheaper laptop that is as usuable. the point is that this laptop is almost good enough for professional work if it wasn't for the nonupgradable ram.. I would have gotten this even if it just has one sodimm slot.

It's really sad because the price is great for a high res oled screen too. And the 14in size and lightweight is great!. I would've def pay $50 more if it has even one sodimm slot!. There is really nothing else within this price range!
