If you want to get a noise violation, this is your ticket. Thumps.

I bought this last year for the same price. It's 100% worth it. It is incredibly loud. No water resistance rating, so use caution if you plan to use it at the beach or on a boat. It can "link" with a 2nd party box for stereo. Had mic inputs and you can adjust the mic/music volume independently.

I have two of these, two 300s, and two 1000s. Get the 100s on this deal, excellent speakers.

Same…. I heard the ion at a family reunion and it sounded great. I have jbl home theatre and it's great too. Definitely would like some input before pulling the trigger
I have the the ion 280. I have found at high volume the ion speakers compress the bottom end hard. Search up audio compression. The ion is pretty heavy handed when it comes to compression. That can be a good thing though because that might save the speaker when a really bass heavy song is suddenly played. The compression results in a less hard attack on pounding bass heavy music. Musically speaking that is not always desired. Jbl has a microphone input and can be mixed with the music and the compression it not as heavy handed. For me I can deal with the compression and the battery life is great on the Ion. If you're on a budget and don't need the microphone the ION will do just fine. It's loud and generally sounds great. If you have the extra money the JBL is the goal. But get this… for the price of one JBL you could get two ION speakers and pair them and run stereo. Cost was the deciding factor for me. I have two ION 280s and used them for a Halloween "trunk or treat" and they were pleasantly loud enough to fill the parking lot. The ion speakers have an app and while the lights are not as fancy the are nice and can be controlled by the app. The speaker has a "boom" button that I don't use only because you have a 3 band EQ in the app that does a better job. Oh and the 280 has wheels and a pop up handle. The 280 is rated at 120 watts. Front firing tweeters AND side firing tweeters also… a built in bottle opener. The 320 at Costco has all these features and is rated at 200 watts.

Is this really a deal? The Partybox 100 was this SAME price 2 YEARS AGO in 2020. For some reason, Walmart still carries these even though they've been discontinued for quite some time. This is "old" tech in the grand scheme of things and imo should be priced much less than this this late in the game.

Just picked one up from walmart a couple hours ago. 100% returning the ION 320 from costco and keeping this one. The bass and clearness of the sound makes the Ion a joke. Sucks losing battery life and water resistance but the sound quality is just too damn good.

This vs the JBL Boombox 3? I know they're not in the same price bracket but the boombox is more portable. Wondering if I should sacrifice portability for better sound.

I have one, and definitely know that I have no need for something this loud/big, I always turn the volume down at my backyard cookouts so we can talk to each other, but I just bought a second one because I want the stereo pairing, I can't resist

Damn I just ordered the ION 320 but been wanting a PartyBox as well… it's really just a speaker for us to use when we play sports outdoors so hopefully the ION fulfills that need. Waterproof is also nice but was really hoping it was a bit closer in terms of sound quality

It's water resistant. My dog pissed on mine when we were in the pool. 😀 still works.

This or UE hyperboom? I've heard the hyperboom and really liked it but have not heard this jbl.
Partybox 100 is far superior to the Hyperboom, whihc is usually $450 or sometimes $400. Both are older model speakers.

The ion speakers are mediocre to lousy. I would never recommend an Ion speaker to anybody. I have around 50 Partybox videos on my youtube channel (Jay's Straight Up Reviews And More) and have tried or owned over 120 Bluetooth speakers. If you don't want to pay the extra for the 110, the 100 is still a good option for $200. The 100, what with it being the old model, just can't TWS/Party connect to the second generation of Partybox speakers, isn't waterproof at all, has very basic lights and the 100 also isn't supported by the Partybox app.
