It's not junk depending on what you need. For us Turbotax deluxe* is very easy to use with our particular Schedule C business and easily imports our brokerage account information. I tried H&R block one year and I could not get it to properly calculate our business tax credits even after opening a support ticket.

Also - an FYI for those that used TaxAct, H&R Block or TaxSlayer online services in previous years: There is a good chance they secretly sent data about you to Meta\Facebook:

*In previous years there were some abilities you'd get with the physical disk that weren't included in the download copy. I haven't looked this year to see if that is still the case or not

Cause Intuit, maker of TurboTax, and other tax prep software companies have paid off Congress to make sure they don't allow this to happen. It's been contemplated for years and years.

Just an FYI, last year, from Dec 25-Feb 10, the price of TurboTax Deluxe+State on Amazon was $39.99.

This deal is for $35, so that's a little better, but .. if they stick to the same pricing as last year, you can wait a bit.

Amazon usually has the best discount on TurboTax (approx) the last week of December in my experience. For the "deluxe" version that is... not sure about all of the other versions. That's when I always buy it.

That's what I thought too. Everyone seems to remember last year's deal as $30. But I thought that deal did not include a state.

I used TT for decades. Last year I switched to HR Block Deluxe + State. It did everything TT did for less than half the price. HR Block deluxe + state has been $15 on sale in March for the past 3 years. As far as them selling your data everybody online sells your data these days. Just my opinion.
