Skip this one and do the deal from Samsung with edu discount and iPad 1 trade in. It was like 99 for 64GB and $129 for the 128GB. Used IPad 1 in working condition can be had for around $30 on eBay. So $130 to $160ish total
I think this one is better and includes the S Pen.
I'm an Apple guy and have been playing around with my S6 over the weekend. I love it! You can connect your iPhone via usb c and download apps and data from your phone or cloud. Also grabbed a 512GB microSD card from one of the several deals here. They'll make awesome head rest video players for the kiddos. Just got wifey one as well.
My only complaint is how much the Samsung cases cost. They're on sale for $35 but originally $70.

I've had this tablet (2022 updated version) for awhile, and it's very good for this price. It's one of the better Android tablets I've owned. The GPU isn't the greatest for heavy gaming, but it's fine for everyday usage. The included S Pen is a nice bonus. Battery life is very good.

I was trying out the S6 Lite for a few days and comparing it side by side with ipad 9. My main focus was to take notes using onenote, so my opinion would be limited to my experience with this.
The s-pen is really great and writes smoothly with zero noise as opposed to the logitech crayon on the ipad 9. One issue i had initially with the S6 lite was that the home button was at the mid-bottom of the screen, and while using onenote, it was quitting randomly. But 3 days after use, these was a software update and the home button moved to the right corner while using onenote, and it was no longer an issue.
Since onenote for android has limited functionality compared to on ios, I decided to return it and go the ios route.
(Specifically, the icon to create space anywhere within the page (an equal sign with arrows pointing up and down) was missing in the android, which was a deal-breaker for me)

It's mainly just a gift idea for my kid who like to play Roblox, Minecraft, etc. Would it provide a smoother framerate?

Has the price changed? Shows $129 for me not $99
