No expandable memory on the iPad unfortunately
Don't be too excited about iOS updates. The first couple years of updates are fine, but then they start adding features and optimizations for the later devices, which starts making the older devices slower and slower.
Samsung will give at least 3 years of updates. I've had the Samsung Tab S6 for 3 years and the Samsung Tab A 10.1 for 4 years, both still work great. As long as you don't drop them, they will last.

Nice tablet and price that comes with S Pen! I just wished they made small tablets with S Pen like they did back then to a Tab A 8" version.
I have 3 tablets different price and size (This S6 Lite 10.4", Tab A 8.4" 2020, and Tab s7 11").

Can you comment on how smooth usage is with the 4GB RAM? I'm always hesitant to invest in an android tablet purely because the few times that I have over the years, the processor and RAM of anything affordable for occasional use usually equated to such a bad experience, I just stopped using it. I would love to have a nice Android tablet but honestly just don't want to spend as much as a flagship phone for it. I've always wondered if these Samsung budget tablets have a better tweaked user experience than what Lenovo or other brands offer.

Best buy has at the same price. You may have cheap gift cards or cash back credit cards that do better there.

Not a bad cheap tablet but with the iPad being $250 I have a hard time purchasing anything else cheap. I know the iPad will get updates and work for years.
Which iPad?

Have had an s6 lite since first release. Casual games run smooth - 8 Ball Pool, Pokémon Go. Great for streaming, YouTube, and browsing. Some of the drawing apps lag a little with the pen while drawing. I would purchase again.

Slow I really don't recommend. Is it usable? Yea it works fine but you can feel the nonexistent snappy-ness. New lite version came out in $300 range before the discount altho I am not sure if it is available in the US yet.

Have you tried an iPad for drawing? Would you recommend the Samsung for drawing?

Thanks. That is what I was afraid of. I just can't enjoy moving from a flagship phone to a device that has noticeable lag. It just becomes too noticeable with such a big contrast in user experience.

I'll just keep using my Lenovo M14T portable touchscreen monitor with my phone for a portable DeX setup. All the smarts and power of the phone, comes with a stylus, and can always be used with my next phone when I upgrade. It just isn't as convenient as a dedicated tablet but by far and away the most enjoyable and cost efficient method for a bigger display with great performance

The slow s6 lite you mentioned is the 2020 or 2022 version?
The latter has an upgraded cpu.

my older iPad Pro is 2gb ram. It runs everything quite well. You can find it on eBay prolly for under 200$, it's the 9.7inch iPad pro
