I was trying whole time to convince myself to get one, but I have no use for tablets, honestly My MacBook pro and iPhone does the job , maybe a good pricy option for kids

What you doing to your iPads??? I've had both A12Z and M1 12.9" models, no bending. And I've taken them in backpacks and suitcases all over the place.

How quickly do we think the pricing on this will drop below the current price for the 128 GB? We have an older iPad (4 or 5 years old, at least), and are more than happy with it (it only gets used for streaming media and other simple apps like the color-by-number "games"), but planned on getting rid of it in May or June of 2023. I would expect that the 2021 128 GB model should be quite a bit below $549 by then....right? Apart from the iPad, we use Android devices, so I have never paid attention to iPad pricing...

Evidently there's still plenty of stock on the iPad air 4 model I couldn't pass up the $329 price

Samsung Tab series primarily, though only the larger sizes are OLED the past two iterations. Deals pop up all the time for them. Lenovo's P11 Pro also, which is 11" or so

You should probably expect the M1 11" to only go below $549, if you're buying used.

Discontinued iPads usually get one last blowout discount from big retailers before they disappear for good. And this looks just like that scenario.

The only time I've seen a new iPad Pro go lower was in 2019 when Walmart cleared out the 10.5" iPad Pro at 50% off, but that was in store only and very small quantities.
