From that, I'm understanding that you'd get $175 from iPhone 11 refunded and $350 promo trade-in credit would just disappear. Apparently forum dude even had hard time getting initial phone value refunded definitely nothing on promo credit refunded.
I've had this problem with the past where when these deals come around the online store will say they have nothing in stock but you go to the store and there the item is.
Fundamentally, if the store doesn't want to honor the deal you can't make them. They will say they can't ring it up, or they will is as OOS when it is in stock etc. And the reason why they do that is often because the store employees want to get the deal for their friends and families, not you.
To me, these deals are just not worth the hassle any more. They are great deals, if you can make it swing, but making it swing is risky. It is not worth the risk IMO. Obviously others think it is.
