Track saws have fantastic dust collection, if you're running a hose for dust collection it's no extra work to be using a corded version, especially since you can plug the cable into a dust extractor which will automatically turn on when you turn on the track saw.
Basically there are no downsides to a corded version and there are huge upsides like not having to worry about batteries decaying over the years

I received mine correctly, it showed up today in 1 big box
How big was this box? The track itself is very long box due to the length of the track. So they'd have to find a box that long AND tall enough to contain the tracksaw box. lol.
It was long, maybe 15"x15" but about 5' long. The track saw was packaged inside the plastic container but it was taped to the track so it didn't move around/damage the track
I have ring video and all that fall on deaf ears over at Customer Support that shows their truck, and the driver only delivering 1 package. They even went so far after i explained that they sent me an email to contact police for report before they will do anything....I must say CS is the worse I've ever dealt with over the past 10 years. Then today another email saying that I've seem to be having high package loss, and to check my as address....funny as this is the first out of hundreds of packages...SMH
The box says 1 of 2...but i believe that is a factory sticker, and not amazons doing.

Wow that's a vastly different experience than I had. When I initially called about only receiving the track, the customer rep said the system is allowing her to order a replacement before I even asked. She also said the other option is to process a refund on the original order and reorder a new set. I asked if that would be a problem since the price went up. She said no as they can adjust it to the original order price.
I received the replacement yesterday and it' was delivered by USPS this time instead of an Amazon courier. It was basically two separate makita manufacturer box (saw and track) taped together by clear masking tape so they became one oddly shaped object. There were stickers on both boxes indicating 1/2 and 2/2. This wasn't the case the first time when they shipped me the track only. And someone else said they received both item correctly but in a larger brown box. It seems to me the problem lies in how Amazon warehouses are packaging these two items. It's inconsistent and whoever is not making an effort to package them together is getting 1 of the item in the kit lost.

Did you get the replacement correctly? And if so how did you go about returning the original order and making sure they don't dock you for an incomplete return?
1. first initial order was received Dec 29 and was only the track. Called Amazon cust service and they processed a replacement.
2.replacement order was received yesterday Jan 6 and was only the saw.
So together with both orders by sheer luck I had one complete set. I called customer service to explain that they only delivered one of two packages in a the set TWICE and so I think the rep was sympathetic to my cause and said I didn't have to return anything. So it all worked out in the end.

Yeah my saga continues...I re-ordered after again talking to CS who said they would adjust price after I received. So I ordered, returned the SAW the same day, and Today received only the track, this time USPS left at my door.....I am so pissed, as I think I'm gonna have to give up because they gonna think I'm doing some kind of funny business. I wish their was a way to talk to someone higher up in CS that wasn't outsourced to a foreign land. I guess I'm finally one of those people with a horror Amazon story.
Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. My saga has finally ended (hopefully).
1) Ordered when this deal first appeared.
2) Got only the track in mid-Dec.
3) Called and was sent a replacement. Was told to call back to initiate a return of the 1st order once the replacement came.
4) Replacement came early January with complete set.
5) Called to initiate return of 1st order. Customer service did not seem like she knew what I was talking about. Asked her several times and she said she understood. She created a return code and label. Based upon her description in the return label e-mail, it said I was returning the replacement order. WTF?
6) Looked at the status of my 1st order and it showed a return code, which was different than the one created in point #5. Decided to just use this return code instead.
7) Clenched my butt that they figure this out. Got an e-mail this morning said they received my return, sent out the replacement, and everything is considered closed.
I'll be watching my credit card the next few weeks but hopefully that is the end of that.
