Supposedly it only lets steam out and filters smoke but based on the delicious smells I don't think that it actually eliminates all the smoke from a 400° steak pressing onto the metal.
It does clean up pretty easily and did a good job on the steaks fwiw.

My boss brought one of these in to our job and I made eight pretty thick ribeyes on this thing.

I had (it went to goodwill) one of these, but not this one. Mine had 4 different things that had to be cleaned: the actual grill, the metal drip pan below the grill, the water tray (which mixes with the smoke) and the lid. Combined with being huge counter space wise we decided a foreman grill was better.

Don't forget the hot ham water!
I've only used it for grilling/roasting and once for airfrying. It's difficult to clean the main body, as there's all the nooks and crannies that get greasy and the base doesn't disassemble. I try to go over it with a microfiber clothe & water before/after each use, but even with dainty lady-hands there are some places I can't get to. I emailed asking about deep cleaning, and competitor units requiring water to remain smokeless, and was advised "The main body of the of the unit is the exterior. Under the heating element is the drip tray. You can only clean what you can reach or remove. Adding water is not necessary." So it's different from other indoor smokeless grills in that it just has an extractor fan.
The drip-tray base warped, which seems to be a common issue, but it fits fine with the metal top in place. These are probably my two major complaints, I think I'd buy it again.
I bought it for attempting diy spicy pork belly. It doesn't seem to do all that great with fattier bits of meat, or maybe I haven't figured out the right settings, but of course there's lots of drippings and a non-negligble amount of smoke. It's fine for things like burgers or chicken breasts, and I've done a whole pork loin in it. We air fryed some chicken bits, and I haven't tried the bake/dehydrator functions yet. Or maybe I have, roasting/oven/baking seem pretty similar to me?
Oh yes I love steamed clams! Lol
