Opposite experience for me with the Samsung Smart Tags. Packed them in luggage/backpack while traveling to SF and they pinged the entire trip, regardless of how near/far I was from them. Pinged all day long in my hotel room from various Galaxy users passing by. Also tracked them on all flights, which let me know my checked bags boarded with me. Highly recommend them.
January 19th, 2021 - Samsung releases Galaxy SmartTag [samsung.com]

April 30th, 2021 - Apple launches AirTag [apple.com]

Who's copying whom?
The only issue I've had with these is when they are close to dying, I've never seen it go into the low battery phase. It just stops tracking no notification or anything. Instead, it shows the last location of when it was on as if that's its current location.

Samsung's website sucks. The discounts all vary per account. Just like their Watch 5 debacle. Not even worth trying.

Good price, but lately these have some serious battery drain issues. I have to replace the battery like every month....

Seem rather like someone is not using their iPhone to even try and do a little research before posting something so ignorant.

For Q3 2022, Samsung has 22% worldwide market share of Smartphones. Apple has 18%.

this. I wish they would open source the app vs apple like behavior..
Yes! I would jump on one of these if they could be used with my Pixel. Fo not I just have tile, which is nice for keys and other items that get lost in the home, but are pretty useless for luggage.

Some people were randomly getting $20 discounts through the website, while others were not able to replicate it. Some chat reps were giving some individuals a discount for mentioning the "website discount" issue while others were not given any discounts.
