GoPro Hero 11 is on sale for 347.48 when you add the 1year GoPro Subscription and add to cart. The subscription can be canceled at anytime to avoid yearly fees.
I believe this is currently the lowest price for GoPro Hero 11. Alternatively, the bundle which includes a spare Enduro battery, The Handler, Head strap + quick clip and 32gb memory card is 389.98.

The Canadian shipping charges + tax are almost 35% if I use the Canadian website. Not worth it.
If you want to record for a long time though you might want to look for something else.
Edit don't do this deal, I heard when you buy it and cancel the subscription they charge you full retail price for the camera!
If you're actually active and giving it airflow, you should be good.
This thing is very small, very powerful (with all the processing enabled), and waterproof. Waterproof equals no ventilation.
So pick 2 out of those 3. You can't have all three. Or maybe even just pick one out of powerful/waterproof.
What about a water proof phone? A phone would throttle itself. Obviously this isn't acceptable here. So if you're going to keep it stationary and have an insane amount of image processing happening, there's a limit to how long a small, waterproof design can run without running into thermal issues.
Why are you defending them? Dont use irrelevant tech excuses to validate what DOESNT work with this unit. Does it say in their product page that you can only use 5k in temps under 50F or have air flow of over 30mph? So if I wanted to record some match or game or event, I have to what run around like an idiot all over the field or area to maintain shooting that not miss any action?
And why bother having 5k if you can use it? Clearly its for marketing and they dont list their pitfalls... you work for them or something? Its obvious they do not think its a problem, typical negligent BS from a dumb company and you think its ok, just have the customer who paid for the device go and do every trick to be able to make their standard features work. Might as well buy a hand crank car and flintstone it to your job.
And if the waterproof is such an issue, there are literally millions of accessories for this... occam says maybe let one of those accessories be the waterproof solution since that is a super easy cheap 10 second solution for any time duration and create proper vents for the regular user who may not live in Antarctica.
If this were a $100 unit, I would not complain at all.

I prob would never use 5k with max settings, but I would like to use 4k with 240fps, but I am afraid even that will overheat in direct sunlight here when it is 80-85F+ every single day. Looks like what we really need for an accessory is a case that has its own liquid cooled system.

Size/Processing Power/Water Proof. Pick two. You're mad at me for the reality of physics. Too bad.

Some critical upgrade I am missing?

Why so mad? This is where current camera technology is. Many cameras are prone to overheating. The Gopro also does a lot of internal processing to give a final result that anybody can use right away.
Also, from your comments, your intended usage is unreasonable. I would even conclude that you don't understand what you are even shopping for. 4k 240p is only for short clips. Heck, even if you were recording at only 1080p you would still want to keep it to only short clips.
The primary function of a Gopro is to have a light weight camera that can mount where you want it and is not overly expensive to break. You can't mount a Sony A1 + lens on your chest comfortably, play a sport, and not be concerned about it.

I upgrade my GoPro yearly since GoPro 3 and I skipped this time because I couldn't find any remarkable improvements then 10.
