Personally I like the Africa expansion. The routes are color coordinated to match the terrain of Africa (e.g. mountain ranges are all black and white routes) which means depending on your tickets you may need a lot of just one or two colors. And in addition to just the normal train car cards you normally draw there are also terrain cards you can draw too. When you play a terrain card of a matching color when claiming a route it will double the points of the route (e.g. a 3-car route worth 4 points becomes 8-points when played with a terrain card). This can lead to some high scoring games which always fun.
I also really like Nordic (stand alone game, not an expansion) since it is only for 2-3 players. Having a slightly smaller map designed for fewer players is nice for those times when you have less people to play with.
I find India to be a little frustrating to play because of how quickly the board gets crowded. It's probably a map I would only recommend for more advanced players. That said, it also comes with Switzerland on the reverse side so you are getting two maps for the price of one. Switzerland is another 2-3 player map like Nordic--although I don't think it's nearly as well balanced as Nordic. Games can get very lopsided based on the luck of the draw.

Your explanation of Nordic and India accurately reflects the traffic patterns of these regions
Stores seems to be always playing tricks with us. I bought couple of games from target last week
.I was checking if it's better to buy 3 games now with this b2g1 offer, they have bumped up the prices. Overall rates were better without this deal.

I bought them then with lower prices (8 total)
Now even with the increase, I'm saving close to 40$ overall

I rather have something with high quality real wood pieces like a classic look.
The way they did it is just do a more detailed set and larger.

Edit: It also features the destination cards from the original game, Europe 1912, Orient Express and a promo card, bringing the count to 108.
