Criminally underrated show canceled much too early.
Warning: the last episode is a massive, unresolved cliffhanger.
Of all the shows I have watched that got cancelled early, this is the one I thought had the most potential. Even during the first season, what I thought would be a main character gets killed, and I knew this wasn't your average TV show. The casting was just excellent, and the stories were great, despite the budgets. I recommend this to everyone looking for a sci-fi gem.

To be honest, I don't think it wasn't really underrated. It's typical SyFy fodder (maybe on the higher end of that scale). That being said I really enjoyed it. My guilty pleasure is bad/mediocre science fiction.
Made absolutely no sense to can the show before it's final season. It had a decent enough following. SyFy would also have been able to sell the show as a complete series. Apparently, it was the bean counters (of which I am one) who were the shows death knell.
This is one of the few shows I looked forward to new episodes each week. Third season was great, but yeah, the cliffhanger ending… ughhhhhh. Wish it got the final season.

Syfy has a history of cancelling good shows. MST3K, Defiance, Dark Matter, Farscape, Z Nation, Tremors, Haven, Tripping the Rift, Ghost Hunters, Destination Truth, and more I can't think of. Syfy used to be my second favorite channel.

It was an okay show at best...trying to fill in the void post-Stargate. One of the better ones along with Continuum. It still kind of irks me that Killjoys got five seasons when Dark Matter only got three.
I still remember (somewhat vaguely) the last show I ever watched on SyFy...and that was Aftermath (2016). Talk about a hilariously bad show that makes you wish they released a documentary about how it got made after watching each episode.

I kept hoping another network would eventually pick it up (like Futurama) or that fan outcry could bring it back for at least another season (like Jericho). Alas, it seems like it just wasn't meant to be. I thought the cast worked pretty well together and they had a good story line going. Definitely bummed me out that it was so unresolved.

I think it was a victim of that weird SyFy thing like Expanse? Didn't have the luck / following that Expanse did though.
