As an owner of one, don't buy it. The screen/protector have a serious problem which has caused mine to have screen damage ( dead pixels) and the protector bubbling/cracking causing who knows what kind of permanent damage underneath.
Owner experience, DO NOT BUY. Screen is a joke, breaks from normal use and Samsung won't honor warranty, costs $500 to repair, even your normal phone insurance won't cover it at the same deductible because they can't fix it. This is headed towards a class action lawsuit, BUYER BEWARE.
I actually bought it from Woot a few days ago, decided that the hinge failures(and Samsung's reported habit of dodging screen related warranty claims for the flip/fold series) wasn't worth it to me and am trading it in to Best Buy for $750(I think it goes up to $800 for more expensive models) off of an S22.

Just an FYI for anyone who wants a roundabout way to shave off a few bucks on a new S22 line.

Seems like insurance company frauding the consumer. They should not let you buy insurance if they don't intend to cover the damage. Which company?

Bummer. I was hoping the bad screen reviews were heavy users. Need to get a phone for Mom and thought the screen would be more protected with this design. Frown

Is Best Buy or Samsung still offering the $800/$1000 trade in value?
Yes, I used it yesterday.

Did you get the "plain" S22? What was your final "out of pocket" on the deal?

Yeah, I wanted the smaller screen, I went with the 256GB model to use up as much of the $800 that I could.

My out of pocket was $60 as I have to pay pre-trade in sales tax in my state.

This is not the experience I've heard others have. Most people have not had those damage. I had a full tube and now have a full for no issues I understand those are different models but the screen and hinge technology is similar

It's very very tempting indeed.
I am kinda torn because I have S22 Ultra and feel like it would be a big step down, but the opportunity to experience the fold, much smaller device I am not sure. Trade in value probably will go down to $300 soon, but that also means you have to buy a new phone.

Is this fully compatible with all T-mobile bands in the USA? There was a while fiasco with international or unlocked devices not getting proper signals on tmo service.
I won't suggest it. I have s22 ultra and z flip 4 (got a good deal from best buy).
S22 ultra specs are much superior, plus it is more functional on a day to day use. The outer screen on z flip is very limited in options.
Z flip 4 is sitting in my desk, waiting for a good deal on z fold.

Don't do it if your phone isn't overly huge for you. you're trading super cameras and battery life for portability and wow factor. you don't need this phone just for pocketing convenience and turning heads.

Bought this when it came out and my screen crapped out on me 5 months in. All for the novelty but stick to something more conventional

Very good deal on these at Walmart right now. $288 outright on this model for AT&T. Or free ($0/mo x 36 mo) if you do it on an installment plan (balance is still only 288 if you pay it off/leave)

Overall a good deal if you have the money to have something like this for show. Performance wise it's a rip off and a gimmick compared to other devices. For trade in seems like a good device. Then again most people who care about phones like this and how it makes them look just pay full price.

I had the moto razr gen 2 what a pile of garbage had to RMA it 2x times. Was a easy RMA though.
Yes I understand these are 2 different tier phones but they are both foldable.

This was the first phone I ever regretted upgrading to (from an S20 plus). The novalty wears out quickly and so does the battery. Its terrible. Ppl will say you have to make compromises to make it work but then what's the point of paying for feature you wont use. In normal use my screen protector would come up from the hinge causing a ghosting like affect to run the middle of the screen as well. As soon as I could I traded it in for an iPhone and haven't regretted it.
