The Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3/8 in. Right Angle Impact Wrench w/Friction Ring is the industry's most powerful right angle impact wrench. This battery-powered right angle impact wrench delivers up to 220 ft. lbs. of nut-busting torque without kickback. This durable cordless impact wrench easily fits into tighter spaces than traditional pistol-grip impact wrenches with a profile head of only 2.2 in., reducing the user's need for socket extensions. The 4-Mode Drive Control provides users with unmatched control in various fastening and bolt removal applications. Modes 1-3 provide RPM and IPM adjustments for precision control. Mode 4 has Auto Shut-off in forward and Bolt Removal Mode in reverse. The Auto Shut-off Mode prevents over-tightening of bolts by applying no more than 15ft-lbs. of torque. Bolt Removal Mode drastically slows down the RPMs once the bolt is loosened for more control. Our M12 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT CP2.5 Battery Pack delivers 25% more power and runs 25% cooler vs our other M12 REDLITHIUM CP battery packs. This increased performance of the lithium-ion battery gives you the same power and runtime of an M12 REDLITHIUM XC battery in a lighter and more compact package. The 12-Volt battery pack delivers fade-free power and runs substantially cooler through demanding applications, allowing you to push your cordless power tools throughout a wide range of applications.

Tool only can be regularly had for $160-170 range despite the 199 msrp. This is an OK deal if you're desperate right now but it's not a great deal by any means.
If there's a decent amount of room it's ok. If it's a tight area forget it. It's nice to have when a stubby impact is too big and a battery ratchet isn't powerful enough then bring out this guy.
I have this and it's definitely more powerful than a m12 fuel ratchet but it's a lot bulkier and has nowhere near the power of m12 stubby 2554-20
The M12 stubby has 250 ft lbs of torque and this has 220 ft lbs of torque so I wouldn't say nowhere near. If properly right tightened your tire lugs this wrench should be able to break them loose which is impressive. The clearance is 2.2" plus your socket so hopefully that helps.

The specs are close but real world use is a very different story. Could not loosen my 140 ft lbs lug nuts with the right angle impact that were properly torqued.

it's a strange tool... i rarely use air/power tools doing automotive work, mostly cause i'm not doing it as a job, i'm doing it for pleasure. even the few times i've pulled out the air ratchet (knuckle buster), just break stubborn bolts loose with a breaker bar and switch to the ratchet to finish. mostly just where thing are in a tight enough area i can't swing a swivel head ratchet.

Same, while it's a want not a need tool for almost anyone but a hard core mechanic, when you're in a tight or no swing radius spot that it fits in and a real impact doesn't, it's amazing, but it's definitely not as strong as a straight impact by a good margin. Main use ive gotten out of it is caliper brackets and suspension parts wherre i dont want to bust my knuckles trying to pull a long bar in between a bunch of stuff.

I would tend to agree, it's a great tool when its needed, but it's definitely not in the same ballpark as any of the current compact impacts. A few years ago you could compare it reasonably to the impact driver based guns (there was an M12 and dewalt used to make the 89#s that were just 887s with an anvil) but todays shorty impacts are definitely in a different league of power.
This is best used for removing suspension related items as its small enough to fit there whereas the stubby is usually too long. Doesnt have the power of the stubby but will take most bolts off.
