$10,000 in costco gift cards will let you eat 6666 hot dogs at the costco food court, assuming 2 hot dogs a day that'll last you 3333 days or 9 years. Plus you get a soda with every hot dog.

Assuming only 2 hotdogs a day???? I'll starve!

Quote from Applel7511 :
You are not likely to be working if you can afford these tickets. You more likely have people working for you, if you can afford this.

Read the Millionaire Mind to dispell yourself of myths. This is not a flex but we are technically worth > $1 million which is nothing these days, nowhere near uncommon and nowhere near enough to retire on in a high cost of living state. It is where you should end up if you get a full ride to college, pay off debt, get a good job and save and invest for 20 years out of college (with where the market was). We aren't even high earners compared to many dual income couples.

I'm the most frugal person I know, have worked, saved and invested since I was 15. Working and saving is the quick answer.

Many Americans are spendthrifts and have no financial sense, were not taught the power of compound interest and live for today, not tomorrow.

There is much more nuance than this. No, you cannot just hard work yourself out of being born into a terrible environment, for example. Yes, it's "not what you make but what you keep" but you can't keep much of anything if you don't make much. I had and took advantage of every opportunity afforded to me, from being able to live at home after college (which saved me at least $50-75k which has been invested on top of it for over a decade) to making sure I worked to at least pay off the interest on my medical school loan while in school.

People are basically financially illiterate which does not help matters. It is very hard to change behavior.

My 2C. If you are a fan of a team go to their NFC/AFC championship game at home. Much better atmosphere, though you don't often get the chance to host those. Going for two random teams in SB not nearly as fulfilling for folks who like football for…the football part of it

Unless you're a Packers fan (they don't tend to win that game).
