To me that looks like you could downgrade the plan and use it for 4 months on the $30 plan.
That's what I did 2 years ago. It was the same price back then. I don't think this deal is worth it at this price. The SE has terrible battery life, worse than the 6s. I have both and the SE runs out in two days and the 6s lasts 1.5 weeks (both on standby with Wi-Fi on).

Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Cricket doesn't seem to mention that in the T&Cs and i cannot find where people have talked about merging a line using this type of promo where you're required to be on the highest unlimited plan in order to get the phone deal. Thanks.
JFYI: T-Mobile largest shareholder is Deutsche Telekom, successor of the rightist Nazi Reichspost, so it's not that bad... just be sure to use 3G phone, just in case
