Also back in October, I experienced an Amazon scam when I purchased the white version of this V650 when it had a $50 rebate. The delivery by Amazon to my home ended up being a flat paper padded envelope that you would use for a much smaller item. Inside, I received an elastic hair tie in a little plastic bag, with a barcode for a Cooler Master V650 stuck to it. The shipping label on the outside of the package even still indicated that the item should have weighed "6 lbs". I immediately thought of checking online and searched for "Amazon hair tie scam". Sure enough, posted on Reddit and elsewhere, were stories of people buying electronics or PC components, and receiving a hair tie. Bad enough situation to start with, but this has been THE most miserable customer service experience trying to sort this out. We have called multiple times, we have participated in Amazon's "investigation" where they asked us to email all of our evidence, etc. We have doorbell camera footage of the Amazon driver dropping the package on the ground and jogging back to his van, yet conveniently the delivery is marked as "handed directly to a resident" with no picture of the delivered item taken like they would do when they leave a package outside. I was home that day and watched the Amazon van come and go, he did not ring the doorbell or hand the package to a person. A friend pointed out to me "of course he didn't take a picture of the package, that would conflict with his claim that he handed it to a resident".
We initiated an "incorrect item return" and wasted our time taking a hair tie back to Kohl's, to initiate the refund. They eventually gave us a $25 courtesy credit when we complained that we lost the $50 rebate in the meantime. But, a few weeks later, I had an email saying that the item was never received for return and that I was going to be charged for it. We got back on chat immediately, told the story again, and another Amazon employee said again that it will absolutely be refunded and to ignore any further emails about the item. But, 4 business days later, I still have $115 charged on my credit card, with no sign of a refund coming yet. Next step will be a credit card dispute I guess, and then Amazon will probably blame me for a chargeback.
Sorry to jam up the thread with this post, but I'm reaching the stage where now it's 'let me share my terrible experience with other people since they haven't exactly been helpful'. The item was shipped and sold by Amazon, it wasn't some third party seller. While the package was in transit, either someone at the warehouse or the delivery driver, decided I would be receiving a hair tie instead. I cannot believe I have the physical proof of a little paper envelope being marked as containing a 6 lb item, and I have doorbell footage of this delivery being executed, and I am having this much trouble getting my money back. Other people with "hair tie scam" stories made it sound like they got the usual Amazon customer service of an immediate refund and an apology.
It makes me sick to say I've ordered this current deal on the V650, since I have still wanted a new power supply this entire time. I sent it to a locker instead, which I'm worried will mess up the Cooler Master rebate, but I thought maybe the item would be safer. But even though this is a good price I am considering canceling the order or just letting the locker delivery auto-return by not going to pick it up, because Amazon has seriously left me scared of just being scammed again.

what really annoys me is for $15 more I could have grabbed this instead after rebates but I jumped on the $30 after rebates tier C 750 watt coolermaster power supply ( 5 year warranty which is not bad but loving the 10 year warranty on this one )... ah well..
Here's a review but bear in mind that the review is written assuming the power supply costs much more than the $45 after rebates

and guys remember, with rebates take a picture of or scan everything or otherwise keep a digital copy .. this has been the exception rather than the rule for me but sometimes I have had to contact organizations offering rebates in the past when it didn't come and had to resubmit everything (they did accept what was essentially printed photocopies of the digital images when I resubmitted though.. nowadays I think they'll even let you fax it if you have to resubmit and there are free online fax services)

Actually when registering online for the rebate it lets you select multiple items.

Regarding the warranty length, problem is Cooler Master has a bad reputation for honoring RMA claims unless you get very lucky. So getting 5 or 10 years of coverage from them is almost irrelevant. You'll still be praying that they actually help you when you file a warranty claim.
I've had a V550 from the original V series for many years now with no issues, so I feel like I would trust it again. But any time I hear about Cooler Master, people say trying to RMA sucks.

"Cooler Master MasterWatt 750 Watt Semi-fanless Modular Power Supply, 80 Plus Bronze Certified "
and now I find out that for $45 after rebates I could have bought the "Cooler Master V650 Gold V2 650W 80+ Gold Semi-Fanless Full Modular Power Supply".. so for only $15 more I could have bought a gold certified version that has a 10 year warranty instead of the 5 year warranty
(and no I agree, I don't expect cooler master to actually honor the warranty
So , basically groaning about jumping on the first slickdeal when I could have snagged this one instead
I shouldn't complain though, $30 for a tier C power supply with a 5 year warranty isn't bad.
also if this helps anyone
