Serial 1 RUSH/CTY eBike w/ up to 115 miles range $2000 (Originally $4999.00)
Best Buy has the Serial 1 RUSH/CTY ebike for more than half off. Really solid deal for an ebike with really nice components. The belt drive is my personal favorite, they last forever and don't need lube like a chain.
Any lock can 90% protect 2200 investment from being stolen?
My $7 cordless knockoff dremel fits in my back pocket. It takes a kryptonite bar lock off in less than 1 minute. Chops through those hardened storage unit locks in less than 1 minute too.

Get a 25 Airtag . Take speaker out and conceal . Catch thief.
But really with bicycle you don't really need suspension, your leg is all the suspension you need. For smooth riding I think those fat tires is better.
California roads are actually some of the worst in the country…. Especially Los Angeles. Pot holes, large cracks, trash in the road, etc.
For a city bike there is like ZERO suspension. What city is this for?
This city bike is for commuters. A suspension absorbs energy being applied by the motor, resulting in less range. That is why many commuter ebikes such as this do not have a suspension.
I bought two of these bikes after researching extensively. It is a fantastic bike, and you will not find a better ebike for the money if you can find one in your area. I did want some suspension so switched out to a nicer saddle and am looking at getting a Redshift Shockstop suspension seatpost which is on sale for $183 right now at Redshift or Amazon.
The Priority Current is the closest near this price point, but it is several hundred dollars more (even with Costco 20% discount), has less range, and doesn't have the Automatiq continuously variable transmission that shifts automatically.
max speed only 20mph.. on a 2k bike.. nope i'll pass.
i find 20 mph so boring on along straight away...
would a 28 or 35 mph bike be a big difference that i won't get bored?
BB gives you until jan 14th to return so that's good.
walmart is better at jan 31 if you make sure their specific ebike is returnable in store, some are, some aren't. so be careful with that.
Many people have local laws that prohibit class 2 (throttle equipped, 20 mph max speed) and class 3 (pedal assist, 28 mph max speed) on multi use trails but allow class 1 ebikes (pedal assist, 20 mph max speed) such as this.

I don't know much about eBike. But isn't $2000 a little expensive for a 17.5AH, 250W eBike? Surely belt drive is more expensive, I thought all rubber deterioates over time like tires. Worth the significantly higher cost?
The belt drive is a Gates brand carbon belt not rubber. It is rated to last longer than a chain and requires no lubrication.
$2k is a lot for a bike, but you won't find a comparable ebike for anywhere within $750 of the price in this deal.
The Priority Current with Enviolo hub ($2800 after Costco Next discount) is closest but doesn't have an automatically shifting hub. However, it does have more torque and can carry more on its rear rack. It does have an optional battery extension for something like $700-$800. It can also be programmed to be Class 1 (20 mph max speed) or Class 3 (28 mph max speed) ebike if needed per your local laws. This Serial 1 bike is limited to 20 mph or you can buy the "Rush/City Speed" model that goes up to 28 mph assisted for $2240 at Best Buy right now.
The Specialized Vado 5.0 IGH ($5,500) or the 2022 Serial 1 Rush/City Speed ($4099 at Serial 1 now) models are also great but way more expensive.
This Serial 1 model on sale now is the 2021 model that doesn't have the app connectivity or USB port.

I got this in last deal in July, wish i had waited to save another 500. Its so scary to leave it locked outside here in LA that it defeats the purpose
Where exactly do you leave it locked outside in LA?

How do you like it for LA? I'm debating on buying a e-bike. 5mi commute to Chinatown from NELA area.
