If I'm 5'10 220 lbs, does anyone think I'll be at least somewhat comfortable on the small model?
All the other sizes are sold out near me

I would say no. You need the large model. Where do you live? They are still in stock in San Diego.

If I am 5' 7" and 170lbs, could I get away with a small as well? thats the only size available on the east coast DMV area.

I think you'd be fine.
I test rode small and it was OK. You'd just need seat bit up.

There are a few on Ebay for cheap in varies sizes new in box.
Look there first before you pull the trigger and buy the appropriate size according to the sizing chart.

I mean, that is what I did. I put a Tongsheng mid-drive on my old Giant hybrid bike, but I'm not going to pretend that the donor bike itself is comparable in quality to the Serial 1. My point is that not all 17.5AH, 250W eBikes are the same quality since there are many more factors that make a bike high or low quality besides the motor and battery. And even then, motors and batteries are all not created equal.

Just bought the last 2 Rush/cty that was available in small. They were all out of other sizes. And no speed available as well. But for $1,750 each not bad.
