Is that still bad for office work? Not using it for gaming.
You may see ghosting with VA panels while scrolling fast. I was in the same debate at the beginning of the week. I ended up going with an IPS monitor for $40 more. You also get 90W power delivery to charge your laptop. The KVM feature is kind of a gimmick. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0B92...UTF8&psc=1

I hate that 99% posts about monitors never say what panel type in the description and always have to look under the comment section

Thanks, was looking all over for that info. Too bad it's not Nano IPS. Deal killer for me but possible good deal for others.
Is there a Nano IPS 34 incher 4K for $300?

Whatever the answer is, still not a deal for me. Mind as well stay on a 27 ips than downgrading to play on a va panel.

My main monitor is VA and second monitor IPS.
Blacks are actually black and contrast is more crisp on VA.
IPS has a glow no matter how expensive the monitor but has better viewing angles.

The only reason I have the IPS as a secondary monitor is for the viewing angles or I would go VA for both.

34" is large for a QHD monitor unless you plan on being at a distance from the screen at all times. If you plan of looking at the monitor from a couple feet away your eyes and neck will become fatigued.

I had ips and va, ips glow always bothered me more and the blacks are horrible. Now I game on oled display and everything is perfect.

I'm dying to try one. I hear good things, just worried about the burn in people speak of.

I find the IPS monitors always are the darker and rich colors vs VA washed out colors

Oleds these days don't burn in anymore unless you really try, like leaving a static image on the screen nonstop for 3 or 4 days. Once you go oled, hard to go back to ips or va.

I'm not a gamer. Looking for an unltra-wide for mostly work with multiple windows with graphs, sql clients, spreadsheets and browsers. I would like to use it for watching movies as well.

Is it better for me to stick to VA or IPS?

You won't like ultra wide for console gaming. There will be black bars on the side because consoles don't support ultra wide monitors.
I am looking for a monitor in budget for my MacBook and Xbox X. I will be switching to both as needed. Any recommendations for best monitor if possible in budget.

Assuming that rtings is correct with this model being completely flicker-free, the fatigue one experiences should be minimal unless the resolution was lower as the current PPI is similar to that of a 27" 1440p monitor.

My setup since 3 years ago is a triple 27" 1440p flicker-free IPS in portrait mode and I can attest that I've experienced far less fatigue with this than any flickering monitor. I have it just under 2 feet from me and it isn't remotely as fatiguing as a CRT or PWM monitor (even when used in the dark).

Also, the chair, one's posture, and angle of the monitor are the primary contributors to neck strain. A chair with good padding, a height adjustable monitor mount, and/or a sit/stand desk can help alleviate these issues.

That's only 60Hz though. Not really for "gaming" nowadays.

Between the two, this one's better since it's 160hz vs 100hz. Both are curved and va panels.
