No Horizon 5 is online based. Even if you play single player. Of all the Horizon games (played em/own em all) part 4 is one of the better ones.
In my opinion I rank them: FH1 or FH3, FH4, FH5, FH2
Wasn't FH4 panned for its aggressive loot box system when it came out? After loving FH3, I passed over FH4 for that reason and never looked at it again. Maybe they changed that in later updates?

I'm enjoying FH5, but I agree that the environments don't feel as interesting as the Australian FH3 setting.

It's been a while since I played for but I think you're right I felt that horizon 4 was a little bit more grindy with less of a reward feeling compared to horizon 3.
I still liked horizon for a lot but I don't like it nearly as much as part one or part 3 which is why I feel part 1 and part 3 are somewhat interchangeable.
Like if you're not somebody that's all about the flashy graphics and massive amounts of events then part one was easily the best one.

That's what I've been hearing and actually picked up a used copy from a local games store earlier this year, so I can check it out once I'm in the mood. I'll play video games from any era and appreciate visual eye candy in the context of the time it was released.

Definitely don't miss out on horizon 4 as it was a good game. As far as part one bro once you get the GTR that's it game over like you can go online and beat everyone.
Now that I say that now I remember why I like part one so much a lot of the multiplayer races are set up very similarly to how need for speed was which was a smaller closed track the pre-designed closed track or section of the map.
I miss the older need for speed games where the tracks you raced on were closed off and predetermined therefore if the designer knew what they were doing you as a gamer would have maximum fun on the track. As opposed to open world need for speed where nothing is necessarily made or custom tailored for that one race it's just a big open world.

Wish Steam would price match, I've been looking for a good racing game since I got sick of Rocket League.

Forza or Need For Speed are my top picks, just need to figure out which are best for an i7-7700, 32GB, & GTX 1070 system, then which of those are the best price.
$20 on steam right now

Buy the $30 Game Pass posted here yesterday and play Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 4 has more content than any NFS game, and will run pretty nicely on your system. Keep an eye on isthereanydeal.com for those titles.

Forza 4 ultimate and 5 premium bundle was $80 for couple weeks during black friday. With discounted MS gift cards from Dell through Amex offer and cashbacks everywhere, this bundle could've been had for under $50.

Does this compatible with xbox one x (this is the last model of xbox that is compatible with kennect which my kids use them a lot), I have no plans on upgrading the console.
If so, does the disc need to be in the console all time or it can download and play, i no longer have xbox passes.

FH5 does not require you to play with others. I'm not sure if it requires an internet connection; I've never tried it without one.
Personally, I found FH4's landscape to be the least interesting out of the entire series. The Lego expansion for it felt pretty lame compared to FH3's Hot Wheels expansion, but it wasn't horrible. I think "going back to the well" and doing a Hot Wheels expansion again in 5 feels a bit weak, but it is a very different setup this time and definitely WAY bigger than the one in FH3.

Hoping that someday they'll make a Forza Horizon World, and the old game worlds will be available to purchase again. FH1 will feel pretty rough; nowhere near the fence-crashing freedom, but it WAS useful for the best multiplayer mode ever, which didn't survive into FH2. RIP Cat & Mouse, you were hilarious fun and I hope some other racing dev realizes your potential.
