    This is the cheapest it's been in the last 12 months according to CCC. I had been waiting in vain for it to drop into the sub $50 range for a long time now, but with inflation, I think it likely won't go any lower than this anytime soon. Just pulled the trigger, thanks OP!

    PS. For anyone wondering the differences between this and the GLM20 that's slightly cheaper, besides an extra 100' of range, this one has a higher degree of accuracy, the ability to store past measurements, and most importantly it can calculate the vertical leg height of a right triangle via Pythagorean theorm whereas the GLM20 can't. That alone is worth the extra $20 to me

    honestly it would kind of hard to explain the light conditions i used it in but i've never had any corrosion or battery problems whether on or off .i've changed the battery once since getting it last year. i've never needed to measure more than 90ft.i do remember using it to randomly measure across a building in manhattan during the day and it worked.

    This is one of those things that might not be a good idea to cheapen out on, especially when accuracy and reliability is relied upon. Home Depot has this for $30 more.

    Aside from durability and quality control of the knock off brand, there is a little extra consideration when buying product. When you can, pay a little more and buy U.S. brand. Even though it is probably made in China but at least it would keep U.S. companies a little bit more profitable and allow them to innovate further. That's what I do and would encourage those of you who can afford a little extra to do the same.
