I gave my small 10 year old son a full size squire strat. He had some difficulty with the 25.5 scale length. I bought him a squire HH mustang because of the 24" scale length. It is much easier for him to play.

....but he still has to play my guitars instead if his....

The neck on these feel raw. I plan to hit his with some fine sand paper one day. Otherwise great guitar!

Thank you for the responses! Any idea how it compares to this bundle...

This was recently $80 less than this price, unless you need the set right now... Wait.

I bought this and it's been a blast to play, zero issues

And if this the same or similar guitar?!?

No, that is not the same as the guitar in this deal. That is a bullet strat.

Any lefties available?
I am left handed and just started learning and decided to learn on a regular guitar. Easier to pick up any guitar and play.

Also, wouldn't reversing the strings make any guitar a 'leftie'?

Not quite, mainly since you would have the control knobs, input jack, strap buttons, etc out of their normal spot if you just flipped and reversed the strings. The lefty models would have all that in the correct orientation. Not that it can't be done (Jimi Hendrix style), but it would be way easier to play if it was just a lefty model.

I think they mean they just play the right handed guitar normally. Because you're using both hands anyway so just fret with the dominant and strum with the other rather than the other way around.

Edit, saw the original had two questions - you're right, knob placement would be a consideration for sure.

I should have specified on the question part- apologies for any confusion.

And it's totally possible to learn with right-handed orientation as a lefty (even somewhat common). Joe Perry is one of the more famous people to do that, but happens pretty regularly. You could always get crazy like Dick Dale and play a lefty guitar as a lefty, but with the strings reversed... But that's probably not the best starting point for most players.

The guitar in this deal has a 24" scale so if the player in question is small in stature, this guitar will probably be easier.

If not, they should be roughly the same and just comes down to personal preference. This guitar is much more unique than a bullet strat though.

I agree, if they are not small in stature or a teen, then this pack for $150 is great: https://slickdeals.net/f/16259359-squier-stratocaster-electric-guitar-10g-amplifier-padded-gig-bag-from-149-free-shipping

It has everything to get the going.

You can get a cheap lefty here: https://www.proaudiostar.com/squi...le-fb.html but to be completely honest if you haven't started learning guitar yet on a left-handed one it makes way more sense to learn on a right handed guitar.

Great deal - always wanted a Mustang with the competition stripe but couldn't justify the $500+ price tag as not a main guitar. Might just keep new in box for my son when he is old enough.

Is it super small? I have several full size guitars but love this color!
