From what I've read:
800 - slightly better sub, one more speaker, less inputs (no optical), less audio format sound processing, comes in white, slimmer soundbar, 330W
Dolby
Dolby ATMOS
Dolby Digital Plus
(*ATMOS Music)

DTS
DTS 5.1ch

700 - more audio sound processing for atmos and dts, has optical input, 320W
Dolby
Dolby ATMOS
Dolby TrueHD
Dolby Digital Plus
Dolby MAT
(*ATMOS Music)

DTS
DTS:X
DTS-HD HRA
DTS-HD MA
DTS Express
DTS 5.1ch

Hard to imagine the 800 provides 25% better sound for the 25% increase in cost. My guess would be marginal sound. I thought I read some other SDer posting a comparison of the two on an old thread but I can't find it. The user basically said he kept the 700 because sound quality was marginal. This is still tempting for me because I like the white option and slim look but I was also hoping to connect an old Sonos Connect to the optical input so the lack of that might kill the deal for me.

Is everyone able to Chromecast onto the sound bar? Not sure if I'm having issues with the bar or it's the Eero screwing things up but it's not popping up as an option, q700b worked fine although I took it down before the Eero updated itself today

I currently use a Vizio Elevate. If you need a more budget friendly bar, the M series is an excellent option. I think I got it for around 300 at bestbuy. It is a 5.1.2 system and really does have a great soundstage.

Sonos playbar is great if you want an all in 1 solution. (Overpriced, however, very good)

If you want atmos, thats a big selling point for me, I like the upfiring rear speakers, the elevate was the cheapest option. I think I paid around 500 for it.

The M series premium is also good, just lacks the rear height speakers, but the overall surround is great. (also has Earc and HDMI 2.1 passthrough)

I demoed the Klipsch 1200 series, It was too much. Price, performance, clutter, speakers all over.

If you have an LG setup, the SP8YA is a significant upgrade to these. Open box at bestbuy are 199 vs 799 MSRP. Rears are $99.
would you recommend the SP8YA over this especially since I have a LG C1 tv

Had this soundbar as well as the rear speakers. Soundbar is worth about $300. Its not, at all, even with wild inflation, worth anything near 900. Not even close.

Drivers are small, have a narrow sound range in the higher frequencies, and do not produce a round sound stage.

The rear speakers are a joke. Imagine adding some 1990's computer speakers to a soundbar.

Theyre quiet, don't add any height, and have a massive power cable for each speaker.

If someone paid $900 for their soundbar and $250 for the rear speakers, they have to be seriously disappointed. (I spend a lot with Samsung, their reps offer me tons of stuff, they set my expectations low on this)

Buy a bar with larger drivers.
Glad I didn't get it. I was thinking the exact same thing with the small drivers this bar has. I was able to add to cart for $300 last night but decided to wait for a better deal on a q800.

How is Samsung's return experience? I am thinking to order this and S60B to see if s60b has good enough voice clarity and bass for my living room. I'll return this one in that case.

Well damn, for some reason this bar has airplay but doesn't have Chromecast although most retailers incorrectly say it does. Wife loves the look of it versus the q700b but I wanted wifi music. It has smart things but doesn't include Chromecast at a $900 retail is insane to me. Q700b does have Chromecast

Fantastic super compact sound bar! Great for locations you have limited space. I got the S801B (the white one) and mounted it in front of my white fireplace, few inches below the mantle.

It looks great:

Most of my guests don't even notice it is there.

It also sounds very good. Not blasting loud, but I was more interested in the quality of sound anyways.

If you are not pressed for space and do not need to mount it on the wall, I would go for something bigger and more expensive, that will have a bit better sound. For me though, sounds pretty amazing already, compared to my horrible sounding Vizio TV.
Wow super clean. Didn't even see it at first glance.

How does this one compare to the Vizio M512A-H6 which was available for $350 a few weeks ago?

Went to Best Buy and listened to the demo. The drivers are very small and the mid range is completely lost. Yes you have the sub but even still. Pass for me.

All things considered I'm sticking to my pending order for the Q700B's for $240... Weighing everything I don't see any real advantage of this other than the slim profile of the sound bar which in my case isn't a big deal.

My ignorance in new technology is showing. Would this be a bad hookup if I have an Xbox and 4K Blu-ray player? The lack of HDMI inputs would make this a bad choice, no?
