I think almost anyone should give Death Note a try. Incredibly original idea which is a crazy thrill ride for at least 2/3rds of its run.

the pacing of the story is kind of slow, but yes it is really good and gripping. it is an intelligent thriller.

2 Seasons, it completes.

The first season is better - rewatched it many times. I don't even like anime, but this is just one of the greatest cat and mouse stories ever told. Great characters, great buildup, you'll like it.

I googled and it says "season 2 has not be announced in works (as of 10/15/2022)". But you said there are 2 seasons. I am so confused. It also says season 1 has 37 episodes. Also, the back of this Blu-ray is showing 37 episodes in 5 disks...

The anime has only 1 season 37 episodes, but it consists of part 1 and part2 with some years between them in the story which might cause the confusion.
Or there was a TV live action series which has only 1 season because of negative feedback.
I actual like the live action movies 1 and 2 because of faster pace and excellent performance of the L actor., though some people really hate the annoying girl in the movie.

First part is amazing as far as anime goes. Changes in the later half kind of brought it down to just pretty decent. This goes on a short list of anime I'd recommend to people that aren't really into anime. The writing outweighs the vehicle.

Thanks for clarifying. I thought I was missing something. Kids and I watched live action movie of Fullmetal alchemist. It was bad. I was so bad, it makes me chuckle thinking about it. lol. Not every anime needs live action version.
