Double click issue is 100% real. I still buy this mouse. I am a HEAVY user, and it will last me maybe 18 months before click issue happens. Because I love this mouse so much, I basically just buy multiple I have purchased and kept in their packaging until error happens on the next one, and then I do the RMA process to get a new one, whilst opening the package for one I already bought. Kind of a pain, but easy.

The catch here is I have tried multiple brands and they all end up having the same double click issue because the internal switch is a component sourced by nearly all these companies the same. I've taken the switch apart to manually fix it, following some online guide, and seeing how thin and tiny the copper metal inside that needs to be bent back is, you realize how insanely delicate it is and this is clearly some part of planned obsolescence, as the only logical explanation.

With that being said, for basically the best mouse out there, with Logitech's proprietary free scroll, I just accept that this sucks and live with it for $30.

Until companies make their own switches with higher quality, the double click issue isn't going away anytime soon. I made the mistake of buying some fancy $120 mouse once, only to encounter the same double click issue, only to find out after researching online that this $120 mouse had the same switch as a $30 mouse, and I told myself never again.

So, imo, if this mouse has what you like, at $30, just go with it. As a very heavy user myself, it still will last me a while. I probably put in the equivalent in 18 months as an average user might in 5+ years.

Have had this mouse since 2016 (just checked my email for when I bought it) no issues. The cable was coated in a fabric material that Velcro kinda frayed but otherwise still working like new.

This one is the black Logitech G502 HERO . is the white version called Logitech G502 SE Hero for 7$ more better? I'm assuming it's a newer version compared to the black one which may solve the double-click issue.

Filtering on reviews for the SE shows the same issues/complaints

Double clicking issue must exist in short period of time otherwise who's going to buy more mouse how are they going to make money? All brands are doing it. I used to spend a lot on mouse but now $5 to $20 is the max I will spend, whether it is logitech, microsoft...etc.

I've had the older model G502 Proteus core for 5+ (?) years now. I use regularly, not for work. No double click issues but the cord was fraying and heavy and got a Paracord mod from Agile cables. Now it feels wireless, though the clutter of the cord is still present of course.

I hardly get time to play games, but if you were seriously competitive this mouse would be way too heavy (50+ grams too heavy) but for everyone else, it's a workhorse mouse. good number of customizable buttons and the free spinning wheel is unbeatable.

One limitation, not specifically of this mouse, but mice of this form factor in general, is the strain it puts on my wrist, but I've remedied that with a delta hub wrist rest (Carpio v2), which is entirely worth the cost.

I keep seeing things about double-clicking problems on this mouse. Any thoughts on the reliability of these?
I had this issue with my first one and RMA'd it a year out under warranty. While the RMA process was a PITA, I ultimately got it replaced.

None for me, had mines for over 5+ years now, and I bought two backups just in case.

I just bought one of these when it was $35 last week or so to replace my old Logitech G500 that finally developed double clicking after a decade of heavy use. The G502 is pretty nice so far. I wish it were a little bigger but that's my only complaint.

How's the G502 X, X plus, Lightspeed versions of this mouse? I've been using the G502 since it replaced the G9X and love the shape and the feel. Do those new versions add or subtract to the formula?

Logitech has switch problems on everything they make it seems, especially their Harmony remotes of which I've had to replace perhaps a half-dozen over the past 15+ years due to the damn buttons dying and now that they've killed the universal remote line, I don't know what I'm going to do when the current remotes die. Jerks.

But on the topic of mice, when the scroll wheel of my beloved MX518 started jamming up, I ended up getting a G700S hybrid wireless/corded (I use it corded) mouse and after 8 years, it's still rolling on with no double-click issues. I just dislike that no games seem to recognize any buttons beyond the basic five so the extra two side buttons and others aren't mappable without mucking with the Logitech software.

I've also got a Logitech Illuminated low profile keyboard which works fine after I can't even remember how long. Easily 10 years.
