Double click issue is 100% real. I still buy this mouse. I am a HEAVY user, and it will last me maybe 18 months before click issue happens. Because I love this mouse so much, I basically just buy multiple I have purchased and kept in their packaging until error happens on the next one, and then I do the RMA process to get a new one, whilst opening the package for one I already bought. Kind of a pain, but easy.

The catch here is I have tried multiple brands and they all end up having the same double click issue because the internal switch is a component sourced by nearly all these companies the same. I've taken the switch apart to manually fix it, following some online guide, and seeing how thin and tiny the copper metal inside that needs to be bent back is, you realize how insanely delicate it is and this is clearly some part of planned obsolescence, as the only logical explanation.

With that being said, for basically the best mouse out there, with Logitech's proprietary free scroll, I just accept that this sucks and live with it for $30.

Until companies make their own switches with higher quality, the double click issue isn't going away anytime soon. I made the mistake of buying some fancy $120 mouse once, only to encounter the same double click issue, only to find out after researching online that this $120 mouse had the same switch as a $30 mouse, and I told myself never again.

So, imo, if this mouse has what you like, at $30, just go with it. As a very heavy user myself, it still will last me a while. I probably put in the equivalent in 18 months as an average user might in 5+ years.

Buying this as a Christmas gift? Get it from Best Buy, because shipping from Amazon on this item is way too long right now.

i dont know about Windows users but if you use Mac (esp Ventura), don't even bother with Logitech. Their software is garbage and eats RAM like shark...

Me too I just checked my Amazon purchase date was December 15th 2015 and mine is still going strong although worn and I'm going to pick this up as a future replacement.
I see the 602 is on sale and wonder if I should try that mouse out. How many weights did you put in yours? I just checked mine and had 0.

How's the G502 X, X plus, Lightspeed versions of this mouse? I've been using the G502 since it replaced the G9X and love the shape and the feel. Do those new versions add or subtract to the formula?
the G502 X is 80$ and this one is only 30$ . both have 11 buttons but what funny is the 80$ has 13 programable because you can program to scroll up and down. In brief, if they fix the ghub software so the 30$ mouse can have 13 program features too then both will be the same.

Is there a way to find out how old is my current G502 without digging up receipts that may be long gone? I want to guess at least 5 years old (and possibly longer). Still works perfectly fine. How much of an upgrade is G502 to the Hero mouse?

I recently got the G502 X Plus with the Best Buy deal, and that one I would say overall is a good upgrade. It's around 15 grams lighter which doesn't sound like much but it was noticeable, the side buttons are more pronounced and easier to click, the 'sniper' button is easier to reach, or you can just remove the button if you accidently click it, and it uses new switches which are meant to get rid of the double clicking issues than can affect Logitech mice. I can't compare battery life to the G502 Lightspeed as i only have the wired version, but i've been using it for almost 2 weeks and i still have yet to charge it, this is with RGB off. The only negative for me so far is that the scroll wheel is very sensitive when using it in free scroll mode, i find myself occasionally scrolling more than intended. No doubt it's due to the fact that it's now a plastic wheel instead of metal. Aside from that it's great, I'd say if you can find/wait for a deal its a worthy upgrade, especially if the new switches do in fact turn out to eliminate double clicking issues for good. In the meantime the G502 is still an amazing mouse and ~1/5 the price haha.

To save another $8 on this mouse.

I used the Amazon offer $8 Amazon Credit that I received when I purchased the 16-Ct or 18-Ct Eligible Larabar Product between 11/1/22 - 12/31/22 on Amazon.com.

Logitech has switch problems on everything they make it seems, especially their Harmony remotes of which I've had to replace perhaps a half-dozen over the past 15+ years due to the damn buttons dying and now that they've killed the universal remote line, I don't know what I'm going to do when the current remotes die. Jerks.

But on the topic of mice, when the scroll wheel of my beloved MX518 started jamming up, I ended up getting a G700S hybrid wireless/corded (I use it corded) mouse and after 8 years, it's still rolling on with no double-click issues. I just dislike that no games seem to recognize any buttons beyond the basic five so the extra two side buttons and others aren't mappable without mucking with the Logitech software.

I've also got a Logitech Illuminated low profile keyboard which works fine after I can't even remember how long. Easily 10 years.
I have the Logitech G700 and was looking for another since I like the form factor with 6 buttons. The closest I found was a wireless G602 that lasted just past the warranty before I realized it had the double click issue. My G700 is 8+ years old now with no double click issues and I am dreading the day I have to actually replace it. Ebay has some G700S "refurbs" for $170+ that costs WAY too much for me. The closest I found to the form factor I want is the ROCCAT Kone XP, which goes for about $89 (recently on sale for $74). It is not hybrid, but I use my G700 exclusively corded, as it has more support for macros/buttons while wired.

The old school "Logitech Gaming Software" actually works quite well, not sure why you don't want to use it. Just pick a random key for the buttons, I use Pgup and = for mine.

I second this 100%.

I also buy backups on sales like this because I haven't found another mouse that can compete with this layout *and* feature set.

This is the best mouse on the market, hands down.

If nothing else, you can write lua scripts for it to automate many things.

You need to download an older piece of their software to use scripts however (about 18 months old at this point), as the current version does NOT execute scripts.
