    California king 72" x 84"

    Twin XL 38" x 79"
    Hence two Twin XL (38 + 38 = 76) make a regular king and won't fit into a California king bed.

    Had to spell it out with the numbers as several people repeated wrong infoā€¦

    That's a major plus, imo. Never understood the point of a headboard, unless it's one of those massive ones with shelves and cubbies. Otherwise, it's just a silly wall mural substitute.
    You technically could use a skirt if you didn't use the lifts as well. Monsters love to hide, so I give them no cover.

    We use our headboard nonstop for reading/propping. Before that, we used the bare wall which just feels likeā€¦college Smilie

    And I'll stan bedskirts all day ā€” they can be a pain, but being able to hide all your storage is great. Even a solid platform bed with drawers holds a tiny fraction of what an open platform can do.

    If anyone is in the market for a King Mattress. Get TWO twins instead of one king. Reason is because you can use adjustable bed base and not have an argument over it.

    You can lean against a headboard. I have a sleigh bed so my pillows don't touch the dirty wall (you can't wipe clean the wall, paint will fall off) and I don't kick my sheets off the bed or my wife off the bed.
