Great deal on 4 Pokémon tins. Usually $25 each MSRP and at Costco this is $75 for the 4 pack bundle. Currently marked down to $50 with free shipping. Each tin has 5 booster packs.

Generally a 10 pack card has: 6 common, 3 uncommon, and 1 rare card. Rare does not mean large monetary value.

Just like the lottery, small winner, big winner...most are losers.

Good luck all, rip and open for fun.
I can't decide if buying shopkins for my daughter or Pokémon for my boys feels worse. Why can't kids just like books and new socks? They've been asking for these at Costco and I have no idea WTH is in them or how many cards it is or even what a Pokémon is but I guess I am regrettably in for 1

Buy 7 and it takes another $25 off the total for spending $300+

I can not buy both for sure. So what do I go with?
From what's been said so far the ones with the Pikachu tin. Possibly more Evolving Skies in those tins. Either is a great deal.

I know what Pokémon is/are, but I feel yah on this. My 11yo went from collecting to play, then to make money on and sell, then suddenly when he was finally all done with buying more he shifted gears and now he wants to play again. To his credit, he's been able to negotiate better than any car salesman I've ever seen when he goes to the comic book store. He will haggle and "word fence" with the guys behind the counter to get the best deals on trades and even better deals when they buy from him. He is impressive. But I just can't see sinking so much money into this. …
However, I paid off most of my grad school loans selling my comic book collection. So I'm not one to knock him, too much.

Pokemon collector here... if you want to open them, go for the tyranitar one... Those contain two VERY good packs to open (evolving skies and chilling reign - brilliant stars not that bad either and you usually get 2). The hit rates are low but you could pull cards worth hundreds of dollars.

If you want to keep them sealed, go for the pikachu bundle. They come with packs that are technically worth more unopened, although the sets are more 'flat'. Lots of 4-5 dollar cards up to 30-40 but no big hitters. The packs in that one are more valuable unopened though because it looks like some are coming with older releases inside.

Question - are the tins individually wrapped? Looking to hand out Xmas presents to multiple kids. Could I "break" one of these into 4 tins? Thanks in advance for your help!!

I've bought a couple of these, and yes, the tins are each individually wrapped. It varies whether the tin is "shrink wrapped" or wrapped with a plastic ring, but in either case they are highly giftable. I split a four pack between my two boys and two neighbor kids and they had a blast.

Well said, and agreed! The Pikachu/Eevee/Eternatus/Tyranitar bundle is the slightly better of the two in value vs the eevee bundle, and the promo cards are a little bit more sought after (i.e. more expensive aftermarket).

I just bought 4 of these for a Christmas gift for $60 each a couple of days ago. Does Costco price adjust if price goes lower within a certain amount of days on any given purchased item?

Costco doesn't price match to their own website, you can just buy these and return them instore with old receipt

If you bought online for $60, then you can just go through the price adjustment form

This is a fantastic deal. Both Brilliant Stars and Evolving Skies are desirable packs. Evolving Skies is all but impossible to purchase for anything under 6$ a pack (and rising) through third parties, and Brilliant Stars goes for just about $3.75 per pack. The Fusion strike is recently confirmed to be out of stock at most distributors, so that price is rising a bit but it is a less eventful set with only a handful of cards worth chasing (based on price).

All in all the value is here:
    Estimated retail: 2 x 6.50 (Evolving Skies) + 2 x 3.75 (Brilliant Stars) + 1 x 2.75 (Fusion Strike) + $1 Promo card = $24.25 at market rate

Compare that to the $12.50 per box, and this is a really great deal.

For collectors, it might be too few Evolving Skies, but for Christmas gifts and people who just want to open a decent pack selection for the chance at a good hit, these are GREAT value! Plus the value of the tin, for what its worth.

Small edit: it looks like Costco is also having an additional $25 off an order of $300+ (until 12/9/22) on qualifying toys. That sweetens it if you are buying these in bulk, or wanted to get other toys and this helps you get to the $300 total.

Correct! I bought 2 of them in the store on 10/19 for $64.99. Then the next 3 days, I went back and they were all gone. I checked online and the price was $74.99 for these. Felt good until now.

Now I have to think about if buying and returning is worth getting my $30 back.
30 bucks, definitely! just wait to return them till your going there for normal shopping.
