I'm really surprised that this hasn't gotten more traction (comments).
Yes, AC not AX, but for may this would suit their purpose very inexpensively.

Not sure about TCL specifically, but the biggest ban relates mainly to Huawei's commercial cellular hardware, the stuff we all depend on but never see. And I think there was a similar ban on ZTE telecom hardware. As far as I know, there is no ban on consumer electronics from any government-aligned Chinese company.

Efforts to stop China from buying American chips (think Qualcomm) is a whole different story.

Would this be an upgrade to a TPlink archer AC1750? Besides the mesh?

Upgrade from a nighthawk router/modem combo?

Ok...so after watching the install videos....do you need to keep the primary node always connected to the modem?

Yes, it's correct. The primary node is the only one that must remain connected to the modem

Thanks so in that case .I'm out.
My wifi doesn't drop that much in my house to warrant having two boxes sitting next to each other

I am looking for something to extend the range for my router. I am curious what is the benefit of using this AC1200 mesh vs adding another AC1900 router as repeater/access point (may be through powerline extension). If it is a wireless connection, will the bandwidth be halved with this mesh option as well (like the repeater)

Where does it say that?
In the q/a section of the b&h page. I do see a local LAN port, but I think that's for like "bridge"

same here..

Highly doubt it.

Stability is key for most everyone How stable are these? How many wireless devices do they support? 10 -30 - 40?

Why on earth would it have 2 gigabit ports if it can't do backhaul? Cmon now...think before posting.
I wouldn't build a mesh system AP with dual ports but without backhaul…but I'm also not going to buy something assuming a function just based on the number of ports.

I ordered 2 sets. Hopefully, they work well as access points to fill in some of the dead spots.

Does anyone know if these can be used as travel routers? might be mighty cheap as travel routers if true. TIA.
