I'm tempted to buy this just to get a backup remote for our Roku Ultra that's connected to our non smart TV. I know that I can use my phone as a remote, but every time I try to do that I have to sync it to my Roku again.
I already bought a backup remote for our Roku TV for $20. It has a power button for the TV. The remote for this sale Premier does not have a power button.

You'd be 1000% more happy paying $150 for Unblock Tech. You can barely watch anything with Roku. Unblock Tech is the true cable cutting device, the only one you will ever need. It's equivalent of the cable descrambler from the old analog days.
Are you talking about regular android box? Or does it come with free premium iptv lifetime service? Can you pm me the link pls?

I bought the Roku Stick 4K back when Amazon had it for $24. When I first saw this post I thought I had made the wrong choice, but looking at the specs it seems like the Stick 4K is probably the better buy. The biggest difference I can see is the remote. Did I miss anything?

Apparently the remote that comes with this version doesn't have the TV power or volume buttons. So you would need to use a different remote to turn on/off the TV and control the volume.

You're better off buying a Chromecast with Google TV or an Nvidia shield or even the On Android boxes and installing Kodi and setting that up. But if you do not want to diy a setup then sure buy some Chinese box that will end support who knows when and who knows what tracking is being done.

Isn't it cheaper to just hook the hdmi to an old laptop, easier interface, use a bluetooth mouse. There's no browser on roku and firesticks browser Isn't user friendly

Not really, your OLD laptop is going to eat a lot of power so you're going to pay for electricity what you're my saving on buying this. You can always cast to your Roku from your phone

Here's why it's handy to have a backup physical IR remote when these Roku's go on sale so cheap like this: Wi-Fi password.

And it can be cheaper, or just a few dollars more, to purchase an entirely new Roku with remote than to order just a replacement remote.

I lost my Roku remote years ago and it still hasn't turned up. No problem - I'll just use the TV remote for power and volume and the app to control the actual Roku, right? That system worked just fine until replaced my Wi-Fi router and needed to enter the new password into my Roku to add it to my network. That's the one function I absolutely needed a Roku remote to complete.

At the time, I only had one Roku - so only one (lost) Roku remote - and I had to borrow a family members remote, just to enter my new Wi-Fi password. 🤦🏼

The kodi experience was pretty terrible the last I tried it. IMO, just pay for the legit local service. For foreign VOD and live broadcast, the "chinese box" are superior

Well I guess if you want international video then maybe. My Kodi setup has been working great for me. It's utilitarian looking but all I need is find the show or movie I want and start the video. Don't need no fancy Netflix UI.and if you have an android phone, Wako can be setup to find the show and auto stream on your Kodi device. To each their own

Can you sum up the difference in a few sentences for the tech less than savvy? Thx
The Ultra/Ultra LT (2022) has more memory and storage. It should be faster and more responsive. Others already mention having the volume buttons, which is a must for me and for this reason alone, I'd spend $10 more for a Roku Streaming Stick at least.

I used my Roku Streaming Stick for 3 years and especially after the latest RokuOS update, the Xfinity Stream app's channel guide takes a long time to load. Scrolling through the channel guide only works only after waiting 30-60 seconds, then scrolling one channel at a time while waiting 5 or so seconds in between. If I scroll too fast the channel guide seems to be stuck loading (I've waiting 5 mins before giving up). For what it's worth, other streaming services are fine (just takes some time to startup).

I picked up the 2022 Ultra LT from Walmart 2 days ago and the Xfinity Stream app works fine after initial loading (less than 10 seconds). Channel guide is really responsive and I can scroll through it as fast as I want..and the channel schedule updates very very quickly. I do have it connected via Ethernet, so not sure if that makes any difference. Other streaming services starts up slightly faster than my old Roku.

For what it's worth, I did buy an 2022 Apple TV to see how the Xfinity Stream app will work. The deal breaker for me is at random times, the Xfinity Stream app will complain about my cable service so either I can't watch any channels or only certain channels won't load. I know while it's not Apple's fault, but I never had this problem with my old Roku. That and $150 vs $30… Ended up returning the Apple TV.

The main thing the "full" Roku Ultra and Apple TV has is Atmos support. I just found out I can get a pair of Sony Atmos speakers for about $125 so I'm tempted to return my Ultra LT and wait for an Ultra deal. But then I don't know how much I'd be able to tell the Atmos effect. My current home theater setup is 5.1 and most of the time I can barely tell the actual surround effect unless it's specific movies like one of the Spider-Man BluRay disc.

Sharp eye, Good found !
I guess they expect you turn off the device with manual power switch...volume control to use your TV remote....
