These Planters brand were softer, seemed not as fresh. Still good and edible but can tell it was not as good of quality than Kirkland.

Kirkland also has fewer of the hard un-chewable spit it out ones, as does unexpectedly the Fisher brand - although they tended to be saltier.
Planters was the superior go to brand for years and years, but when they cheapened their products, as reported in the news some years ago, by switching from growing and using their own top grade nuts to out sourcing lower graded "bidding market" mixed grades from all over the world - while at the same time raising their prices, quality and taste with them became too hit & miss for me.
Actually have had mostly decent luck with Amazon Happy Belly branded cashews, but not so much with their peanuts, and found a good crunchy taste with Nature's Morsels Macadamia Nuts - both of which are usually less expensive for more ounces and frequently drop in price - is why I keep them on standby in my cart so Amazon can tell me when it happens.

Are the online prices always higher than in-store prices for a given item at Costco? I have heard this.
