I'm an Iron worker and love Thorogood boots. USA made and very comfortable. Going on 3 years now and there still holding up. I've wore them down to the soles, stitching was burnt out when welding and there still holding together well.
FWIW... Every other website I've seen these on (including thorogood's) advertises these as comp toe boots. ASTM/ANSI I75 & C75 approved. Haven't seen a non-safety version. So I'm gonna guess these are probably comp toe too.
I have some Danner (USA) Black 8" steel toe that I love. I keep them fresh with clear wax. However, the leather on the toe got scuffed. The guy who buffed out the scuffs polished with black polish, thus discoloring the white stitching. These also have white stitching.
Too bad a lot of sizes are gone. I have a couple pairs of these boots and love them. Mine are all steel toe for work but I'd buy these just to have them.
I did I inspection work on constructio Jobs. Tons of walking and various field conditions. Boots held up very well and were comfortable out of the box. The wellingtons took a day to break in but all other pairs were wondering.

I oiled mine up with some Huberd's grease and wore them in the snow, feet were nice and dry. Fully submerged in water might be a different story.
Did storm water work in these boots (always in rain). Add Obenauf and you'll be fine for splashing and quick steps in water. If it's submerged you'll get leakage at the seems.
I prefer non waterproof boots because they don't get as hot in the summer.

They don't make both varieties? The description on this website specifically says "Reinforced toe is only to hold the shape (IS NOT A SAFETY TOE)"
This site doesn't give a specific model number and the ones on Thorogood say Briar Pitstop which might be different. But if these are comp toe I'm going to be mad I didn't order them. I hesitated since it said they weren't then my size went out of stock

This deal was posted on Reddit a month or so ago. Guy did some detective work and found that these are the comp toe but they failed specs to be certified.

Very interesting. Were any specifics given on how they failed? Like completely useless or just didn't meet maximum crush pressure but still good for most heavy objects?
Yeah my whole family done give up on me
And it makes me feel oh so bad
The only one who will hang out with me
Is my dear old granddad
And we drink alone, yeah
With nobody else

With nobody else
You know when I drink alone
I prefer to be by myself
One bourbon, one scotch, one beer
These boots are B-B-B-B-Bad
Who do you love?
and the Destroyers
(Pretty sure you gotta be over 40 to appreciate it.)
They are boots, not my gf's manicure, but still.
