Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

Did you activated the modem already?

I didn't have auto-pay enabled before, not sure if the rep enabled it for me.
Not yet. I placed the order around 7AM PST this morning with a helpful rep on the phone.

I haven't even received my tracking number yet for the order.

Just called T-Mobile. I am an existing customer with home internet in my dads name. You can't add the promotion or cancel to add. Would be a 90 day wait to qualify for promotions and won't last that long.

But I asked if I can sign up for the new service and put it in my name as a new customer and qualify and they said I can!

So trick is sign up as a new customer and to put it in your spouses or kids name. You then cancel yours. As you don't need two internet accounts. And keep the one that's $25 a month. You will likely also qualify for that visa gift card for joining T-Mobile internet
You need voice lines as well… at least one

I have 600/25 Mbps service from Comcast Xfinity, locked in at $45/mo (after their Xfinity Mobile promo) for 18 more months. Promo included modem rental (so no data caps), and service has had far fewer dropouts than when I brought my own modem.

That said there have been a few multi-hour ones lately, and just got a notice that they're going to be doing some equipment upgrades in my area next week so to prepare for outages. No indication of how long they'll be working or how long the expected outages. So decided to sign up for this as a backup, in case the equipment work drags on - effectively free for first 4 months assuming the $100 prepaid card comes through, so no harm in trying it.

well let me tell you otherwise, I got an international (non-tmobile sold or supported) and it's working well; ZTE MTU5001 -- you can google it, not a lot of people have that in the US I suppose since it's about $300-$400 sold out of Asia so it can be an expensive experiment. Except I took the experiment out of it since I have been using it for a while now, no issues. and great speeds.
Thanks for the info!

You didn't have to hack any firmware anything? Where did you buy it from? Does it HAVE to be ought out of Asia?

What kinds of speeds are you getting?

It if it works, it's probably worth the experiment for me.

Do they have data caps each month or is it unlimited? Do speeds get limited at "peak times"? Is there a contract to sign?

Depends on your area/tower.
If you are in a congested area.. then they won't have the unlimited plan available. They will offer you the LITE plan which is capped.

plug in your address now and see what plans they offer. If unlimited is available, then you are in good shape (as long as you are close to the 5G tower).
So my home area is only LITE but I used another address for a family member to get the offer with unlimited. Will I have an issue running this in a LITE area? I also got the $100 Mastercard deal as confirmed in the chat by the rep

Thanks for the info. My account is still not showing it there, but I do see the modem and the order info under the account activity.

I went ahead and activated auto-pay now just in case.

I got it on my first time using the Tmobile website chat. Took 1 hour to get everything completed. They couldnt provide me the $100 mastercard promo. This should be fine if I go ahead and submit it through the promo website after activating the modem, is this correct?

Can I use this anywhere? Like if I go somewhere else can I take it there or does it have to be at my adress?

No idea how often they enforce anything but they knew exactly where the router is at all times.

That is what I was told by the rep that helped me and I didn't even asked about it. The terms of the prepaid card also say it too.
