Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

I just went by the store and they are letting me try it out for two weeks free of charge since we just got four new iphone 14s. The problem is that we have a three camera outdoor security system, xbox, three computers, and four phones. Is this little box going to cover all these?

I still don't see the cost breakdown on the app...only the new line on my account
Full Terms says Credits may take up to 2 bill cycles which means could be paying full price for 2 months.

After I talked with several agents on the phone, I finally got the $25 deal as SPRINT LEGACY CUSTOMER. 👍 👍 👍
Can you further describe how you got the deal as Sprint legacy customer?

Are you billed under Sprint or T-mobile? I was told that my lines are billed under Sprint so I cannot qualify, but I did not know anything about Sprint Legacy and if that can help?

How do you get around if it says not available. Do you go through chat? I saw someone mentioned that someone got around it but I can't find the comment. Going thorugh 120 pages of comments would be painful.

I could not get this deal to work online and didn't want to call a rep, so I headed to the T-Mobile store, received the deal and the gateway, hooked it up, checked out a streaming movie, and everything worked great!
My biggest concern was rumor had it that you could not use it with a VPN. Well, I'm happy to report that my corporate VPN is unaffected, as I am using it right now with no issues. Since all you need for it to work is a wall outlet and a T-Mobile tower, it is also (supposedly) very portable, which solves some of my other issues. Logged into my account and the discount is already reflected. Just thought I'd share my in-store experience.
The VPN people are talking about is the self hosted VPNs, in other words you run a VPN server at home and connect to it when you are away from home. Many people do this to connect securely to the home network among other things. For example, you have a laptop or computer at home and wanted to remote connect to it to get some files from it many people do it through a VPN to avoid hackers breaking into it. Another example is security cameras running at home and you are at work and want to connect to them, instead of exposing them to the whole internet directly people run a VPN from home and setup the cameras behind the VPN.

To run a VPN home server however requires that your home internet allows for incoming connections. In other words, think of it as your phone, you can make calls but people can also call you. In order for the VPN home server to work you need to be able to recieve calls. Most regular ISPs like Comcast allow that type of connections. T-mobile Home Internet due to how is structured doesn't allows for incoming connections (receiving calls), it only allows for connections going out of your network (you making a phone call). Thus, running a VPN server or any kind of server doesn't work on T-Mobile's Home Internet without some additional tinkering.

The kind of VPN you are referring to is you from your home making a call to your work's VPN server which should work fine.

As a rule of thumb anything requiring you to do port forwarding will not work with T-mobile Home Internet as they don't have the infrastructure to support that.

Yeah. I just checked my nest and I have 55 connected at the moment. And I am the only one home…so not everything is even turned on and connected. I bet I am over.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. So it's possible to pay $20 IF the subscriber has not reached the $40/account cap limit.

Thanks again!
No, with this promo there is no way to getting it down to $20.

There was a Magenta Max promo that some people were able to get the internet service down to $20 but last thing I read on this thread that it was no longer working.

super annoying that current TMHI customers don't quality. Canceling now and getting COX for a few months and hopefully they will still have the promotion in 3 months for me to re-enroll.

I wonder how the device will handle the traffic once it hits the device limit...will we get a notification and allow us to chose what device is connected and which gets disconnected?

Is $25 rate fixed or it can change in coming years
The internet service is locked at $55 for life. Taxes and other fees are not locked, in other words if your state increases some kind of telco tax T-mobile has not option but to increase it too.

In addition of the service being locked at $55 for life you will also have $25 bill credits apply to you account as long as you don't break the terms of the bill credits for this promo. In other words you will have the bill credits for life. On top of that the Auto-pay discount of $5 will be applied for life too as long as you keep it enabled on your account. If you turn it off the discount will go away until you turn it back on.

The tmobile app was showing 50/month with a 100gc and no mention of a monthly rebate. Used the chat feature to get a rep. Rep wasn't sure and wanted to see a screenshot of the promo. I also gave her the CNET url. All the sudden she tells me oh yes it's a 25/month rebate promo and is active now. Since I'm not seeing it in my app I just applied for the internet through chat. They just needed my address, email to send a security code, and a credit card. 2 day shipping for $0. No activation fee. Strange how folks here were saying they needed a credit check. I'm on the 55 plus one plan.
The credit check is only for new customers, if you are an existing Post-Paid customer they already ran your credit when you created the account and still have that info on file, ie no need to run it again. Pre-paid customers would have to convert their accounts to post paid and that will also require a credit check.

Check the wiki on the first page of the thread, there is a screenshot with how the promo shows up on your account. There are few people that have posted that they have seen that on their accounts.
