Great price but most of the reviews state it isnt consistant speeds and has frequent drops.

I wonder if this is portable as long as you have an oulet for power?
I had this from its inception, originally it wasn't too bad-as time went on the signal got worse and buffered like nuts, 3 TV's a pc and phone. I finally gave up after 7 months and terrible to non-existent customer service. The price is definitely tempting, btw, their newer modem was worst than their first, I had a pc fan underneath to cool it down, no difference.
If true it's a no brainer. I have the service. You can expect 100mbs-300mbs. Down time nonexistent.

just did a test now, it is under my tv since I needed to power it, so not the most ideal window for better speed which I have gotten (something like 547Mbps)

DOWNLOAD Mbps 205.93
UPLOAD Mbps 15.30
Ping ms 44 DL 141 UP 418

no hacking needed, pop in the SIM card and it's good to go, you can customize the device for network name, password, config, etc. Aliexpress, I suppose you can buy it from eBay, it still ships from China.
Just ordered from ebay.

Hopefully can duplicate your success!

My rep told me this: Great question! The $25 home interest discount cannot be combined with the Insider discount, my friend. So you would choose between the $25 off the home internet or the $46 off the rate plan, my friend. It is a significant difference from the Insider and is most definitely why my partner suggested keeping the Insider.

Another rep didn't even bring this point up.
How does one get the "insider" discount?

Will I be able to get the $100 prepaid card if I signed up for test drive and cancelled within 15 days. It was last october. It says need to activate if I had internet service within 90 days in order for the giftcard to be eligible. But test drive is a trial so does it counts towards the 90 days?

well let me tell you otherwise, I got an international (non-tmobile sold or supported) and it's working well; ZTE MTU5001 -- you can google it, not a lot of people have that in the US I suppose since it's about $300-$400 sold out of Asia so it can be an expensive experiment. Except I took the experiment out of it since I have been using it for a while now, no issues. and great speeds.
I could not find MTU5001 only MU5001, is that one you have or is there a MTU model?. The following video is a review of the MU5001

Not always. It's lower priority and they don't have as good a signal as most phones. In a lot of cases it's slower than speed tests on phones.

This service is meant for two main types of customers. Rural where DSL might be the only wired option, or light users who don't game and are sick of the cable company charging more and more for no good reason.

They've finally succeeded in using the spectrum that nobody ever thought would work for home internet and it's highly entertaining to see the other monopolies get a little bit annoyed.

If it works for you, that's cool. If it doesn't, send the router back and let someone else in your area have a turn who might benefit more from it.

In most cases if you have a close price on wired service, it's usually a better choice.
My area has 5G UC...at home my pixel 6 gets over 600...I was told home internet is same or faster by T-Mobile rep, and could confirm from family member who already has it and told me that speeds were same or higher versus his phone.

This is definitely not meant for rural areas as 5G is not prevalent in those areas...5G is stronger and better in metro areas due to the way it is rolled out due to the need for significantly more cell towers and hence fixed to many street light posts, etc.

Anyone know the difference between the MU5001 and the MU5002?

Looks like the MU5002 has an ethernet port as well? Wondering if it's the newer version and potentially better?
