I like it but my wife works in a large hospital and her car is parked in a parking garage. So most of the time the car doesnt start from the other building she is working at. So since this is unlimited range, i am thinking this might be better. I understand the subscription pricing but if we use it for 4/12 months it is cold here, i guess its worth it.

In my in-laws Envoy, yes, when you get in, you insert the key and turn to the On position to drive.

I just had the 4905 installed from the last deal and it's awesome. Best Buy did a great job, $250 installed was well worth it.

Short answer: yes

The system can start the car, but you cannot put it in drive without a key in the ignition. It will shut the car off without the key.

I've got a different compustar model with drone mobile in my car and absolutely love it, definitely recommend paying for the subscription to the app since the ability to start it from your phone or smartwatch is incredible.

I could be wrong but i know a lot of Toyotas are pretty plug and play with these remote start kits, especially newer models with push start. May be the same for other makes...

I got a 12volt solutions kit for 2017 Tacoma for about this price and it was plug and play. The 4g module came out to $2.75 a month (3 years for $99)

I just recently got this on my 2020 Forester but it hasn't been as smooth. It will start the car fine but I can't get the heat or vents to come on unless I put my foot on the brake. I shut the car down with the vents and heat on full, but when I remote start it everything is locked out until the key is in the car and I put my foot on the brake.

Does anyone else have an issue like this? Could this be installer error?

You should call Best Buy and talk to the Autotech.

When you start the car without the remote starter does it do the same thing?

Someone once said you shouldn't leave them on HIGH. Maybe turn it down one and see if that helps.

I bought the IDataStart HC 3.5 last week and have an install setup for my wife's car on the 15th. We don't plan on using the subscription on this particular model, but wondering if the Compustar CSX in this deal is alot across-the-board it? If so, I'll purchase this one and return the other one. It's about $60 more after installation if I go this route.
