Good luck getting an installation done. All the stores near me are booked until mid January.
$190 for TT members.
I like it but my wife works in a large hospital and her car is parked in a parking garage. So most of the time the car doesnt start from the other building she is working at. So since this is unlimited range, i am thinking this might be better. I understand the subscription pricing but if we use it for 4/12 months it is cold here, i guess its worth it.

Does this function as unlimited distance remote unlock as well? Can I remote unlock my car door 50 miles away?

Anyone considering adding one of these to your car, just remember that these devices place a load on your 12v battery all the time. They sit there listening for a signal, like an aftermarket car-alarm will always be drawing current doing it's thing when the car is shut off.

Last year a similar device went on sale and the thread here on SD had more than 1 story of folks who's cars sat for 2 weeks in the winter only to find dead batteries. Just be mindful of how often your car sits around, if you use it often it's probably not an issue, but in the bitter cold...well just remember that thing is always listening and run your car accordingly Smilie
Thanks for the advice. I'm planning on putting this on a collector vehicle and I'll have to start using a tender if that's the case

Do you have any proof of that? Did those cars already have a Parasitic draw from other things in those cars. Maybe those cars had a bad install.

I just recently got this on my 2020 Forester but it hasn't been as smooth. It will start the car fine but I can't get the heat or vents to come on unless I put my foot on the brake. I shut the car down with the vents and heat on full, but when I remote start it everything is locked out until the key is in the car and I put my foot on the brake.

Does anyone else have an issue like this? Could this be installer error?
As others have said, bring it back in. They missed an accessory or ignition wire.

Make sure you have cell service in the garage. I think it uses Verizon towers

I've had this unit for almost 2 years I think..maybe 1 ,not sure..it's EXCELLENT. The first install didn't take because it was a "faulty" module apparently but then they got installed and the smart app start feature and the door lock feature has saved me more than times can count. You get like 30-60 days on their ultimate monthly subscription which is cool but I'm on the $5.99/monthly and it does all I need (location of vehicle, activity log, low battery warning, unlock/lock feature, start in the app when I'm running late and can get a few extra minutes to find my keys ...

I will be putting this in to any future car I own that doesn't have it already

I have a 2016 CX-5. Do you know if the car stops if the key fob is not near the car and someone tries to drive off?
I don't understand the question. Can you elaborate on the exact scenario?

Yes, but only if there is cell service where the car is located.

Our car is a 2019 from Volkswagen. Dealer wants $750 for auto-start.
I'm torn on if I should go to 3rd party and have a separate remote, or just pay the piper.

$300 is significantly cheaper, though, damn it. Ugh....

Does anyone know if you can get the totaltech discount on 2 orders? I'm trying to put total tech and 2 fobs in my cart. The first one gets the discount for to 190, but the 2nd one is for the full 300. Not sure if its worth it totaltech only gives you a discount once

If I'm at home and I start my car to warm it and somebody breaks the window because they see the car is running, will they be able to drive off?
