I didn't . Have an EVGA 650w gold fully modular psu. If I have to spend another 100+ on a different power supply, I'd rather just go ahead and buy an Nvidia card. Whole reason for going with AMD was the value.
I wouldn't blame AMD in this instance. Coil whine from part selection is the board partners (ASUS) fault.

My xfx 6700 xt also has unbearable coil whine. Is it just luck of the draw with any brand?

Bought this for black Friday. It's fairly hefty next to the 1070 it's replacing.
I've only really played warzone with it so far.
I also bought the Samsung odyssey G9 that is 5120x1440 pixels.
The 1070 ran 30-50FPS with medium settings at 80% resolution scale.
The 6700xt runs 100-120FPS on high/ultra settings at 100% resolution scale.
Both were set based on the games initial recommendations.
I scaled all the ultra and high settings down a tad to get a consistent 120FPS because I don't need to see my reflection in a puddle.
All in all, I'm pretty happy.

NZXT's H1 specs say it will fit in the case...
Technically it will, but I had to disassemble part of the frame to barely get it in.
Temps are in the 60-70c range and seems fine.

I also bought this card during the blackfriday type deal, and I am wondering if the your fan is running incredibly loud? I can hardly notice the coil whine without the headphone, but the fan is just so loud I can hear it even with the headphones on. I upgraded this from Rx580 8GB, and even when pushing GPU to 100% the fan is fairly quiet.

Anyone having this issue? I might return this if its just me.
I can barely hear the fans at all, and I haven't set the card to silent mode. (There's a small switch on the board, fyi.) It may also have to do with the airflow in your case. My case has good cable management (nearly all cables are hidden behind the motherboard mounting panel), lots of mesh and 3x 140mm case fans, plus the two 140mm CPU cooler fans, so I suspect that it's keeping everything cooler and preventing the fans from spinning up to higher speeds. I've read that come people will play with their fan profile and allow for slightly hotter GPU temps in exchange for a quieter experience. May be worth looking into.

Looking for some help here. I want to upgrade my nephews graphics card, he's using a Dell 8930, with an i5 8th generation and a 460w PSU, current card is an RX560.

Does anyone know if this will work? Or is there a website I can use to check compatibility? I'm sorry, I should know this but it's a bit beyond my knowledge level.

Thanks in advance!!
I'll agree with another poster that the PSU may not be sufficient. I ran into an issue years ago where I upgraded my graphics card and my PC started crashing regularly. It ended up being because I had insufficient power and the card was drawing enough that it was creating a lot of instability when the card needed to really crunch on some game graphics.

I'm also curious if this might be a good pairing based on how old the other components are in that system. I ran a quick calculation through this site [pc-builds.com] at 4K resolution, just guessing at the i5 being an 8600. It shows the system would be paired pretty well. But this probably depends on other components (storage, RAM, etc.) and which games are being played. Hopefully a more-experienced PC builder can elaborate here.

Assuming the card even fits in that case, I'd definitely want to upgrade the PSU, if this were my system.

460W seems a bit low, but it depends on how many hard drives is in the system, how much power the components draw. Worst case is you have to get a new power supply if the card crashes yours system, won't break your wallet.

Thanks! I've heard Dell PSUs can be a pain to replace but it's great to keep in mind, thanks!!

Wow this is amazing info! This is the type of site I was looking for, still need to do some learning but thanks so much for the head start, can't thank you enough!!

That's unfortunate. I bought this card for two PCs and neither seem to have any coil whine. They've been great, so far. Both have EVGA SuperNova PSUs (one 750W, one 650W). As mentioned, at least it's from Amazon, where returns or exchanges are easy.
Mine unfortunately does exhibit coil whine. =/ It's not unbearable though, just present. Where as the XFX 6700 XT I got from Best Buy prior to this Asus's card delivery is dead silent, regarding specifically coil whine of course.

I'm split on which one to keep. On one hand the Asus is considerably more hefty then the XFX despite being only a "two fan" card. Meaning there's much more heat sink material used which means potentially more headroom for future overclocking should I ever decided to swap out the paste and thermal pads (it already runs cooler than the XFX stock). And it comes with a free game where the XFX from Best Buy does not (and a small price difference, XFX is $360 vs $350 for the Asus). But on the other hand, XFX - no coil whine whatsoever.

I've read over time Coil Whine can dissipate as it can "settle" with heat cycles. My current case sits under my desk and is all steel so it's pretty sound deadening. That may be why the coil whine isn't that bad to me. But if I ever were to convert to a more compact ITX case, which has always appealed to me, those tend to me much more airy to compensate for worse air flow which may make 'tolerable coil whine', untolerable. I'm just really conflicted. I'd easily prefer the Asus over the XFX just by build quality if it just weren't for this dang whine. Come on Asus! You're supposed to be of a higher tier manufacture! But my reference point is from the past. Maybe things have changed.

460W is too low for this card, it MIGHT work but I wouldn't gamble. Also, it's definitely overkill for your nephew's system. Save some money and get him an RX 6500, it will still be a BIG upgrade over his current GPU.
