Just checked and I paid $319 June 2020 for a certified refurbished from vitamix directly. Seems like a good price for new. Wish I had one of these cool colors! Helped me lose 50 lbs so I would highly recommend Smilie

I will say if you are going to be making smoothies for 1 person more often than for 2/ a group, you will probably want the tall 64oz container or one of the smaller containers because it blends better for the smaller portion ( the tall container has a narrower base) I ended up buying a separate container later because I used it mainly for myself. ( the one included is their low profile container which fits under kitchen cabinets better but has a wide base)
Vitamix is a next level blender. Way better than black and decker, oyster, ninja, and etc. It actually liquefies the ingredients. You can make hot soup in it.
This is not a blender. This is a Vitamix!

Same here. It does tend to frost up over time though but can be cleaned with baking soda and elbow grease.

BTW... Project Farm tested blenders:

I've had my Vitamix since 2010, use it 4-5x a week every week. Still gets the job done tho I can tell it's begining to wear down some. Still got plenty of life though and still make great smoothies. That being said part of me wants to sell it and buy new. But I'm curious to see how many years I can get so I think I'll stick with ol faithful for now Wink

I like how the Vitamix Pro 750 blends, but mine has not been reliable at all.

I'm on year 4.5 and it has been sent back for repairs three times. They just send you a refurb, except the last time (about a month ago) they sent me back the same one and the repair note said main board replaced. I've had motors burn out twice. All I ever make is smoothies with frozen bananas and coconut milk.

Also the accessories cost more than the blender. If it goes again, I'm going to try a blendtec as my warranty will be up. I'll just ebay my accessories.

I think the Vitamix 750 is discontinued. IT's nice as it doesn't use that stupid proprietary chip in the container to work.

Honestly I replaced my lunches with smoothies for 4-6 months and then I was just watching what I ate at other meals/ Portion size mostly. After dinner if I ever wanted something to eat I would choose an apple or some other fruit vs normal junk. Exercise for me was just an indoor bike 30min-1hr 3x a week and some basic weight lifting w/ dumbbells. nod
any fruit is just pure sugar and would throw me out of keto instantly. plus it would bring back nasty cravings for more sugar. it was no go for fruit for me. an apple has at least 23g of sugar in case anyone is wondering.

That's a horrible argument. You can't compare to something lesser without having used it. I have a clarinet. It's one of the best you can buy at around $4500 new. I also had the absolute cheapest you can buy at $80 or whatever. I can say without a doubt the $80 one was good but it did break because the plastic was brittle. I also had a legit leblanc beginner instrument I believe it was around $500. I can say without a doubt the $80 one was better.

This guy's $100 blender suits his needs. He can buy 4 of them for the price of 1 vitamix.

Electric motors are getting significantly better at rapid rates, so the quality of blenders on the entry level is a lot better now.

For anyone on the fence about dropping $400 on a blender, I wanted to chime in a little. I have never owned or tried a Vitamix blender. I did upgrade my blender from a Black & Decker this year with a $100 Joyoung and am very satisfied with the purchase. Its primary purpose is to make soymilk, which it does so admirably that I almost feel the straining process is unnecessary; I take the leftover solid, which resembles a clump of well-mashed potatoes, and mix it back into a cup of soymilk for drinking. This way I get all the complete soy proteins that would've otherwise gone to waste, and the texture of the drink is thick, but also completely smooth. The booklet that came with it specifically says not to crush ice for fear of damaging the blades, but I did use it for some smoothies with ice added to the pitcher, and they came out great. The blender also came with a glass pitcher, which is something I looked for specifically, as plastic will scratch, dent, become discolored, and absorb odors with time. I do not know whether this Vitamix blender comes with a glass pitcher or a plastic one, but at this price point, I know which I'd prefer.

So if you are a casual home cook, I would think twice about making such a significant investment on a blender. Of course, if you can afford it, more power to you. But I've been perfectly happy with my $100 blender that I actually got secondhand for $75 on Amazon. Assess your own needs before making purchases!
i paid $240 for my 7500 after Rktn cb and Chase cb, which is exactly this unit minus the presets. i used to have an oster and a black and decker and would blend kale, spinach, parsley, and a whole lemon, and some seeds for smoothies, and would force myself to drink clumps of unblended pieces. it was disgusting. flax seeds and rapsberry seeds would never ever be liquefied. basically, these cheap blenders were so severely underpowered that it made sense to upgrade.

yes and in that video the $100 blender worked fine? Also he bought the 1000w ninja blender. There is a more powerful model.

also looka the reviews many saying how much easier it was to use than their vitamix, how it performed better for their needs, and they even returned their vitamix blenders.

The cult of consumerism is mildly concerning. This forum certainly incentivizes new purchases and it's not preposterous to think there are forces at work to encourage people to spend spend spend, but I don't think my comment was "unhelpful" or off topic. My comment could be boiled down to "make appropriate purchases based on your needs" with my personal take on kind of the blender I need and what my use cases are. Yet it's rated as "unhelpful" by multiple anonymous voters, simply because I haven't bought the thing in question so my experiences and opinions are invalid? I'd wager that the vast majority of commenters in any thread have not purchased the item in the title. Do SD users have to spend hundreds of dollars for the privilege of having our comments not be disparaged by people with 10k sub-140 character twitter-esque posts and a shiny gold PRO next to their name?

Or perhaps my comment is being taken as shilling? I have the blender down in my kitchen and my Amazon invoice as proof, as well as the clump of blended leftover soybean from my evening batch of soymilk. It dissolves completely in liquid and can form a thick but smooth shake. Perhaps liquifying cooked beans is not a tough task for most blenders, but the one I have is at least more than adequate at the job.

It seems that every forum has people who let the smallest modicum of power go to their heads, and stop treating their fellow humans with basic respect and decency. It's very prevalent on reddit, but I honestly did not expect SD to be like this, at least not so quickly. Dropping a snarky one-liner and a youtube review that did not even contradict my point is by no means constructive. But I suppose there is little incentive for SD to cultivate new users when it makes no difference to its bottom line.

I'm happy to hear that you've made a purchase that suits your needs. That was the entire point of my comment. My previous blender was a black & decker and I agree that it was horribly underpowered. I just checked the specs for the one I bought recently, and it's rated for 28000 RPM and draws 1200W. Checked the Vitamix 750 and it is 1200W as well, though wattage is only a small part of the story and is by no means a clear indicator of relative performance. I couldn't find any info on the RPM of the Vitamix, however, and I think RPM would be a better indicator for the performance of a blender. I did buy some blackberries recently, and have some chia seeds in the closet, so I could give the seed-blending a shot and see how it goes.

I don't think I'd ever get the Vitamix, however. A glass pitcher is too important of a feature to me, and I just confirmed that the Vitamix does have a plastic one. Has it proven to be stain/scratch and odor-free for your uses?
