Stay away from CCA junk, folks.

4ga CCA has roughly half of the DC current carrying capability of 4ga copper and is much more brittle and prone to breaking with exact kind of bending and abuse that is commonplace with typical jumper cable use.

If we collectively stop buying this trash they'll eventually stop making it.

The obvious solution is to have both, I have the charger for ease, convenience, and speed, and the jumper cable I've had for 30+ years because I know I'm an idiot and the one time I most critically, urgently need to start will be the one time I forgot to recharge the battery pack
At the prices you can get on SD for chargers and cables there's no reason for it to be an either/or choice.

Depends on what your jumping and situation? How often do you maintain/charge your lithium battery pack? Every two months? Every year? Guess what you don't have to charge jumper cables. I'm still using a set my dad bought. No maintenance necessary.

Other than the OP CCA comment, where does it say that this product is CCA? I can't see that on the packaging, WalMart website, or a brief online search.

That said, the website description does say "flexible", so I'm guessing that's a euphemism for CCA.

Does something like this even matter if I'm not a tow trucker driver? I've jumped a car maybe 10 times in 20 years.

Yes, from experience. In 2015, my battery died in the middle of a hot day in Sam's club parking lot, Richardson TX. I had a brand new cable, just like this one, that I used. I tried to start immediately after connected as well as waited 5 minutes after connected. Didn't work. The professor (UTD) hooked his old, beat up, copper cable and the car started without a problem. He told me to throw away my cable and buy a new pure copper cable instead. Living in MN, I always have cable in the spare tire area. Long story short, I bought the DieHard 4 Gauge Jumper Cables, pure copper but I never had to make any jump start since that day. Knock on wood!
I have a DieHard battery from 6/09/2012 in my 08 Accord that I am trying to see how long that battery will last. I will have the use of the cables when that day comes. Hopefully, not on subzero day.

What does a comparable 20', 4 gauge copper cable cost? And since I'm using this maybe 1 or 2 times a year, is it really that big of a deal?

I've had numerous lithium jumpstarters fail on me due to being left in the car, regardless of periodically charging them or not. I've switched to using a supercapacitor jumpstarter. The one I have is made by Autowit. Had it for about 2 years now and used it about a dozen or so times on various vehicles ranging from a 650cc motorcyle to a 3.6L V6 SUV. No complaints as of yet.

I will have to agree with some of the other comments. I have had a portable jump starter for a few years now and have used it multiple times a year (not for myself thankfully!) to help people out. Every time I use it for someone new, they are amazed that such a product exists. I guess these are good as a backup, but with how packed parking lots are and seeing that everyone pulls into spots, it isn't easy to jump a car with cables. Just get a jump starter on amazon for 60 bucks and show people the magic.

For me, I've thought about buying a battery jumper many times but it's super rare that I have to jump a car.
