Okay, Ill bite. I love Wiha and have never tried their impact bits. For twenty bucks if nothing else it'll just be yet another bit kit laying around the shop.

This is a good deal for what it is, but it's disappointing that a legendary German tool brand like Wiha (founded in 1939) has started to made SO much stuff in Vietnam, in particular. What I don't like about Wiha, is that some of their more expensive stuff is also deceptively made in Asia. Unlike a company like Knipex that makes almost everything in Germany or Gedore, which makes most of their better stuff in Germany or Austria, but has a lower cost "RED" line that is made in Asia, usually Taiwan. With Wiha, you have to be careful.

These bits are horrible. Wiha was not the best in the biz, but they werent the worst either. These are horrible though. They bend easily at tip, and even the torx end up getting stuck in the screw heads. But when you do get them free, they dont appear damaged. Its strange.

Those are different quality from these by far. If I'm not mistaken these bits are either from China or Taiwan while their micro ones are either from Germany or Croatia I think (at least the ones I have are from Germany). It makes sense that these are such quality since price reflects it as well.

Never knew Wiha made such a set of impact bits. I would jump on these but I am up to my neck in impact bits. Interesting evolution regarding impact bits. The first ones hardened steel but brittle. Then companies realized the bits needed a bit of flexing and came out with flex type impact bits or torsion type impact bits. Another factor is what is the screws made of. If the screws themselves are inferior the bits will just cam them out.

Wiha at Lowe's for this price doesn't make sense.

WiHA is a German company but this particular bit set is made in Vietnam.

Yea, Wiha was the top notch stuff waaaaay back when they still had their screwdrivers with the candy-apple clear handles. Those where some VERY high-quality screwdrivers.

Can't knock them for what they're doing though. Business is business-the alternative option may have been to go out of business.

This set for $20 is great. Yes they aren't made in Germany, but they clearly care about quality control based on the bits in the package. Great case too.
