You would be able to see moon detail, Jupiter and Saturn, but probably not much else depending on the light pollution where you live. It's a good option to "test the waters" but would probably be replaced within a year or two by something with a tracking feature.

If you're looking for something that would last longer, I would look into dobsonian models. They're large and bulky, but can add a tracking unit to them after the fact.

I started with something similar to this, but sold it and purchased an 8" dobsonian within 6 months. that telescope has lasted a few years, but I will soon be upgrading to the Celestron NexStar 8SE. it's a fun hobby, but can get expensive quickly.

This. I'd avoid going for these cheap department store scopes. Fine for the moon but rickety awkward tripod will most likely kill any enthusiasm hoped for astronomy.

Google dobsonian telescope, there are some great tabletop ones available too. Easy to use and far better seeing that extend from the moon, planets to nebulae and galaxies.

I tried a pair of astronomy binoculars, but those ended up being too heavy for me to actually use. Couldn't see out of them because my hands shook so much. So I am looking for beginner telescopes.

An option for the binos would be a tripod for them, they can help steady the shaky hand. A good dobsonian will run you between 200-400. I would make my choice based upon where you live. If you live in an area with low light pollution and can stargaze right from your house I would go straight for the dobsonian. If you plan on taking the telescope out to darker areas I would go with something like this that is a bit more portable.
