For those interested, the 5g version is on sale for $199: https://www.motorola.com/us/smart...?skuId=619 This version has double the memory, 256gb instead of 128 and expandable to 1 tb instead of 512 gb (non 5g version). Also has a larger battery 5000 mah instead of the 4000 mah. 6 gb of RAM vs 4 gb with non 5g. If you have a trade, makes it $159 - well worth the extra $30 from the non 5g version. Also 5g version comes with Android 11, while the non 5g has Android 10. Hope this helps.

Google and Samsung killed external storage because there was a brief period where there was a security exploit.

They continued it because it's cheaper to leave out the slot, but more importantly, because people were throwing in cheap SD cards and then complaining about slow performance.

Android still supports external storage via USB-C, network mounted directories, and SD slots where available.

First post on here, going to bed now, hopefully I don't wake up to a ton of "you did it wrong" comments.
Seems to be a cheap price, especially compared to phones at the same price with 32GB. Tempted to get it as a gift.

That's what everyone says. I'll know in a little over 5 months. I'm using the first month now, then I'll use it on wifi for 5 months and use my previous phone for cellular until unlock. Though the $30 metro plan is not a bad deal if you mostly use WiFi.

If I have a Samsung NOTE 8 - will this feel comparable, in terms of experience? Battery/usability.
My mom's NOTE 8 screen has started to malfunction due to Burn-in on the leds.

I bought my Moto G Stylus 2021 at Best Buy for $249 back in Sept 2021. While I would have liked to pay less, I can't say I'm disappointed by it's performance. It's still doing 90-95% of any flagship phone, I have no problems with lag, plenty of storage, huge screen, fingerprint sensor works great/quick, stylus, calls sound fine and battery life is good enough for me. I'm not sure why people are poo-pooing this phone but give zero reasons. The only thing I would complain about is maybe the camera when you don't have enough light. It's no iPhone in that department but daylight shots or videos, I have no complaints. I also absolutely love two Moto gestures, chop to turn flashlight on/off and a quick twist to turn on the camera even if it is locked. No other brand touches those two features(as far as I know).

I've got about 90 apps installed, including Google ones, and there is no noticeable slowdown.

At $130, it is an unbeatable deal and it has had Android 11 available for an update for months.

Good feedback. Got 1 for in-laws who just need a phone and does not care for camera pixels.

I got the 2022 version that is 5G (camera in the middle of the screen). I think CPU is slightly better on it. Cricket 4Gb RAM 128Gb crippled version though which I don't care about since I only use it for calls and occasional web browsing, no gaming, no app-ing, almost never take pictures. Just a phone.

Camera on it perform from excellent (compared to my Pixel 2 I replaced it with) to poor. Depends on the scene/lighting/composition. Sometimes it's shockingly great, something it's like a potato camera from year 2002.

Battery is 2 days of liberal youtube and browsing. I'm very happy with it except for.. size. With an otterbox case it's so ginormous it literally doesn't fit anywhere. Not in the pocket (unless it's a very deep vertical pocket, I wouldn't risk a sideways kinda pocket most jackets/hoodies have, it'll fall out of those instantly). It won't fit in any cupholder or pocket in the car. Have to put it on the seat or inside the center console compartment. Not on any object on your desk/table (it will fall off). If you're very mobile and tend to take out and put your phone everywhere... this may be a source of aggravation.

It causes wrist fatique from prolonged operation. It's heavy. It's not comfortable to use in bed when you're lying on the side or something.

Just something to consider.

if only the n20 came with android 12 and we knew it's upgrade path.
than again, is .3" shorter matter that much to portability?
