True but that's cheaper than black. I may just use this yellow in places it doesn't matter.

for this price, I wonder how much it sucks... the other electrical tape deal had comments saying there was almost no adhesion on them

I got the purple when it was on sale for a similar price and let me tell you…. 3M quality, this is not. It is the worst quality tape I think I've ever used. However having said that, I'm in for a few because I give it to my kids for the random stuff they build in the yard or forts they make out of cardboard to keep them away from the scotch tape.

I can't speak to its intended use, but I find it makes an excellent core for making elementary/general music yarn-wrapped percussion mallets!
